The polymorphism of alpha 2-HS-glycoprotein (AHSG) in Korean population was investigated using methods of polyacrylamide gel isoelectric focusing (pH 5-6) in 2.5M urea followed by immunoblotting. The allele frequencies were estimated to be 0.7318 and 0.2673 for AHSG*1 and AHSG*2, respectively. In addition to the common alleles, a rare variant allele (AHSG*5) was first observed in Korean population.
