The polymorphism of orosomucoid(ORM1 and ORM2) and α2HS-glycoprotein(AHSG) in Korean population was investigated by using isoelectric focusing and immunoblotting. Two common ORM1 alleles (ORM*1 and ORM1*2) and one rare allele (ORM1*3) were observed. The frequencies for the alleles of ORM1 locus were ORM1*1=0.7677, ORM*2=0.2246 and ORM1*3=0.0077. For the ORM2 locus, one common allele(ORM2*1) and two rare alleles(ORM2*V and ORM2*QO)were found. the frequencies for the alleles of ORM2 locus were ORM2*1=0.9538, ORM2*V=0.0431 and ORM2*QO=0.0031. The allele frequencies of AHSG were estimated to be 0.7309 and 0.2691 for AHSG*1 and AHSG*2, respectively. In addition to the common alleles, rare variant alleles were not observed in Korean population.
