The present study is to investigate the quantitative analysis on finger prints from the control and the blind groups. Percent frequencies of finger pattern types were 54.5, 46.1, 57.2 and 45.6 for whorls; 42.8, 49.3, 38.9 and 47.1 for loops; 2.7, 4.6, 4.0 and 7.3 for arches in the male control, the female control, the male blind and the female blind, in order respectively. Three were significant differences between both controls, between both blinds, between the male control and the male blind and between the female control and the female blind, respectively. The total ridge counts were 148.34, 138.96, 138.66 and 124.90 for the male control, the female control, the male blind and the female blind, in order respectively. There were significant differences between both controls, between both blinds, between the male control and the male blind, and between the female control and the female blind, respectively. In conclusion, blindness may be associated with quantitative dermatoglyphics.
