The karyotype of Jindo dog was analysed by conventional Giemsa-staining and G-banding technique. The karyotype in somatic cell consisted of 78 chromosomes. All of autosomes were telo-or acrocentric chromosomes, but X and Y chromosome were submetacentric. All of chromosomes could be identified by G-banding pattern. In a few chromosomes (Nos. 5, 9, 18 and 38), G-banding patterns of Jindo dog were different from those of Beagle (Manolache et al., 1976)
