The origin of protein is of utmost importance in understanding the evolutionary development of living systems, And yet the generally held view stating that proteins are the translation product of DNA inherently possesses and insurmountable logical gap. This paradox implies existence of alternative pathway for protein production in prebiotic environment before the establishment of present-day translation system. In this paper we present a model for protein replication as a mechanism of protein production, which probably traces its origin to the prebiotic stages of primitive earth. A working model demonstrating a dipeptide replication is presented.
