The purpose of this thesis is to explore the kind and characteristics of adolescent welfare projects carried out by the central govemment in Korea form 1992 to 1998, and estimate the amount of the budget established for the projects, the change of budget amount, and its cause. In addition, this thesis aims to provide the fundamental data necessary for establishing the looking-ahead adolescent welfare policy and assuring there is an appropriate amount of money for the adolescent welfare budget. The eight ministries are the Ministry of Health & Welfare, Labor, Rural Development Administration, Unification, Science and Technology, Justice, Culture & Torism, Govemment Administration and Home Affairs. The adolescents in this research are aged from nine to twenty four years old. I analyzed the detailed statement of the bill of revenue and expenditure and also other materials relevant to the estimated revenue. I interviewed some people in charge of the budget funds or in charge of the adolescent welfare projects. Based on the analyses made in this research, I came to some conclusions and made several suggestions for advancing the effectiveness of the adolescent welfare budget in Korea.
