The elderly need to play their role for themselves and society through participation in the organization for voluntary services. In a while, Confucian deference to ages has been only modified during `modernization` and Westernization` of the past fifth year, and is still deeply rooted in Korean tradition. Respect for the elderly remains in the community. Thus, it is necessary to positively utilize the elderly. Thus, this study attempts to establish the elderly organization for voluntary services. This study shows that dong-Ku has a relatively high proportion of aging persons. the County government has a strong will to establish the elderly organization for voluntary services. The county residents are eligible to receive the services offered through the voluntary service organization. More importantly it appears that they appreciate the benefits of the organization, leading to a further strengthening of social solidarity.
