Mo-Al₂O₃ 觸媒의 세슘添加量에 따른 酸鹽基特性의 變化를 알아보기 위하여 pyridine吸着量을 測定하였으며, probe reaction으로서 이소프로필 알코올의 分解反應實驗을 遂行하였다. 세슘량이 增加함에 따라 이소프로필 알코올의 脫水反應活性은 감소하였고, 脫水素反應의 活性은 增加하다가 감소하는 양상을 나타내었다, 또한 pyridine의 吸着量은 세슘含有量이 增加함에 따라 감소하였다. 이러한 實驗結果들로부터 세슘添加에 따라 Molybdena-Alumina 觸媒의 酸點數는 감소함을 알았다.

In order to study the acid-base properties of the cesium-containing molybdena-alumina catalysts, the amount of adsorbed pyridine was measured and the decomposition of isopropyl alcohol as a probe reaction was carried out. As the cesium-content was increased, the dehydration activity of isopropyl alcohol was decreased and the dehydrogenation activity passed through a maximum. Adsorbed amount of pridine was increased with increase in cesium-content. These results suggest that cesium additives lead to decrease the amount of acid sites.
