경북 동해지방에서 채집한 天然沸石 또는 silicate중 대표적인 8가지의 試料를 化學分析, D.T.A, 및 X-線廻折法으로 분석한 결과 沸石은 石英과 長石이 많이 섞인 cilinoptilolite가 主成分이었으며 드물게 heulandite와 mordenite를 확인할 수 있었다. 그 이외 silicate로서 montmorillonite, kaolinite 와 illite의 존재를 확인할 수 있었다. HCl 및 NaOH 용액으로 처리된 試料는 H₂O, C₂H_5OH, 및, C_6H_6 에 대한 吸着劑로서의 활성이 있었으며, 또한 이들 시료의 CO 및 CO₂ gas 에 대한 흡착량도 1기압 25℃에서 측정되었다. 그리고 天然 沸石과 Linde molecular sieve의 吸着量을 비교한 結果, 酸一鹽基 연속처리한 天然 沸石이 H₂O, C₂H_5OH, C_6H_6 및 다른 gas 에 대하여 우수하였다.
The eight representative samples of zeolites or silicates obtained from eastern coastal area of Kyungpook ware analyzed by means of chemical wet method, DTA and X-ray diffraction. As the result, it was recognized that the primary species of zeolite was known to be clinoptilolite mixed with quartz and feldspar. Very seldom heulandites or mordenites were also found. Montmorillonite, kaolinite and illite ware also known as components of silicates. And the samples treated with HCl or NaOH solution were activated to be the adsorbent for the adsorption of vapors of H₂O, C₂H_5OH and C_6H_6 through Diamond Kinter method. The adsorption capacities of these minerals against CO and CO₂ gas under 1 atm 25℃ were also measured by modified B.E.T. method. And the comparisons between the measured adsorption capacities of natural zeolites and Linde molecular sieve were made. The natural zeolites prepared by the acid-base consecutive treatment exhibited to be good adsorbent for H₂O, C₂H_5OH, C_6H_6 and other gases.
