본 연구는 청소년이 경험하는 부모 방임이 진로정체감에 미치는 영향과 부모 방임과 진로정체감 관계에서 공동체의식의 매개효과를 검증하였다. 이를 위해 한국청소년정책연구원에서 실시한 한국아동·청소년패널조사(2010년∼2017년), 중1 패널 데이터 5차연도(고2)의 2,088명의 자료를 활용하여 부모 방임, 공동체의식, 진로정체감의 구조적 관계를 검증하였다. 분석결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 부모 방임을 높게 인식할수록 공동체의식은 낮게 나타났으며, 공동체의식을 매개변인으로 투입하였을 때 부모 방임은 여전히 유의한 변인이었다. 둘째, 공동체의식은 부모 방임과 진로정체감의 관계를 유의하게 부분매개하였다. 이러한 연구결과를 바탕으로 부모 방임을 경험한 청소년들의 진로정체감 향상을 위한 통합적 접근의 필요성과 교육과정 및 지역사회 연계 방안을 논의하였다.

This study examined the effects of parental neglect on adolescents’ career identities and the mediating effect of a sense of community. To achieve this, the structural relationship between parental neglect, sense of community, and career identity was verified using data obtained from 2,088 students who completed the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (2010-2017) administered by the Korea Youth Policy Research Institute. Data from the students’ fifth year of participation in the survey were acquired. The students started participating during their first grade of middle school, meaning that the data analyzed concerned students in the second grade of high school. The results of the analysis were as follows: First, the higher the recognition of parents' neglect, the lower the sense of community. When a sense of community was considered as a mediating variable, the neglect of parents remained significant. Second, a sense of community significantly mediated the relationship between parents' neglect and career identity. Based on the results of this study, the necessity for an integrated approach to improving the career identity of adolescents who have experienced parental neglect and how to connect curriculums with communities were discussed.
