본 연구의 목적은 성취동기와 관련된 예측요인과 결과요인들을 탐색하여, 그 요인들이 다문화 청소년들 성취동기의 변화궤적의 초기값과 변화율에 각각 어떻게 관련되는지를 검증하고자 하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 한국청소년정책연구원이 수집한 다문화청소년패널조사(MAPS) 4~6차년도(중학교 1학년에서 중학교 3학년)의 자료 1,322명(남학생 650명, 여학생 672명)을 대상으로 잠재성장모형을 활용하며 성취동기의 변화궤적을 추정하고, 성취동기에 관련된 각 요인과의 관계를 살펴보았다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 시간의 흐름에 따른 성취동기의 변화궤적을 살펴본 결과 중학교 1학년에서 중학교 3학년까지 성취동기가 유의하게 증가하는 모습을 보였으며, 초기값과 증가 속도에 있어서 개인차가 존재하는 것으로 확인되었다. 둘째, 자아존중감과 가족지지는 성취동기의 초기값과 변화율 모두에 유의한 예측효과가 있는 것으로 나타났으며, 부모의 감독적인 양육태도, 교우관계, 교사관계는 성취동기의 초기값에, 모의 교육수준과 거주지에 대한 인식은 성취동기의 변화율에 유의한 예측효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 성취동기의 초기값과 변화율 모두가 결과요인인 진로의식발달과 학교적응에 유의한 정적영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 성취동기의 초기값만이 학업중단 가능성에 유의한 부적 영향이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 끝으로 주요결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 시사점 및 제한점을 기술하고 후속 연구를 위해 제언하였다.

This study aims to investigate predicting and outcome variables related to achievement motivation and to verify how these variables relate to the initial value and the rate of change in the multi-cultural adolescents' achievement motivation, respectively. This study is based on the National Youth Policy Institute MAPS research data collected from 2014 to 2016. The main findings of this study are as follows: First, from the 1st year of middle school to the 3rd there was a significant increase in the multi-cultural adolescents' achievement motivation, and it was confirmed that there was a significant difference between the initial value and the rate of increase. Second, it was shown that self-esteem and family support had a significant impact on both the initial value and the rate of change in the achievement motivation, while parents' supervised parenting attitude, peer relationship, and teacher relationship had a significant impact only on the initial value, and mother's education level and community consciousness had a significant impact only on the rate of change in the achievement motivation. Third, it was also shown that both the initial value and the rate of change in the achievement motivation had a significant positive impact on career maturity and school adaptation, while only the initial value of the achievement motivation had a significant negative impact on the possibility of school drop-out.
