The purpose of this study is to examine the effect of experiential safety training, where teachers in training go through a life-like experience in a safety education experience center, on Pre-service Early childhood teachers in training on the role performance of safety training, self-awareness on safety training, and safety knowledge level. For this purpose, a total of 35 students from Child-Care Departments in Gyeonggi Province were Analyzed. The findings of this study were as follows; First, the awareness on the role performance of safety training was enhanced after experiential safety training, compared to before the training. Second, the self-awareness on the safety knowledge among Pre-service Early childhood teachers in training was higher after the experiential safety training compared to before. Third, the level of safety knowledge was higher after the experiential safety training compared to before. Fourth, among the awareness on role performance for safety training, self-awareness on safety training, and safety knowledge level, experiential safety training had the highest impact on the level of safety knowledge. The implication of the result of this study is that it can serve as the basic data the practical measures for the inclusion of experiential safety training in the training program for teachers immediately before becoming teachers will endow them with confidence and self-efficacy in the performance of the roles of safety training and safety knowledge.

For this study, we used the data from the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS) to examine the effect of negative psychological factors on adolescents' smartphone dependency and the moderating effect of leisure satisfaction on that effect. We performed data analysis on 2,500 subjects, using SPSS 23.0 to conduct frequency, percentage, reliability and factor analysis. For each of the study questions, we conducted correlation analysis, simple regression analysis, and stepwise regression analysis. The results were: First, there was a positive correlation between aggression, social withdrawal, depression and smartphone dependency. And there was a negative correlation between leisure satisfaction of adolescents and smartphone dependency. Second, aggression, social withdrawal and depression of adolescents were factors influencing smartphone dependency. Last, leisure satisfaction showed a moderating effect on the effect of adolescents' perceived aggression, social withdrawal, and depression on their smartphone dependency.

The aim of this study was to examine the moderating effect of resilience on the relationship between smartphone addiction, interpersonal relation problems, and adjustment to school among adolescents. 412 middle school students in South Chungcheong Province and Sejong City served as subjects. We analyzed the data using Pearson's correlations and stepwise multiple regression analysis with SPSS 21.0. The results were as follows: First, smartphone addiction, resilience, interpersonal relation problems, and school adjustment all showed significant correlations. Second, it showed the moderating effect of resilience on the relationship between smartphone addiction and interpersonal relation problems. Third, it showed the moderating effect of resilience on the relationship between smartphone addiction and school adjustment. The results suggested that middle school students need a counseling program to improve their resilience and prevent interpersonal relation problems and school maladjustment because of smartphone addiction. Finally, we examined the implications and limitations of this study, including suggestions for future research.

This study closely examines how child emotional abuse and neglect are defined not only by international regulations but also in South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Those of the United Kingdom influenced Korean policies on children, and the child abuse policies of the United States were the prime contributor to the establishment of child abuse prevention policies in Korea. This study seeks to explore how child emotional abuse and neglect are punished and dealt with in those two aforementioned countries and reflected in the specific guidelines for clarifying the definition and understanding of child emotional abuse and neglect in Korea. The research findings show that child emotional abuse and neglect are synonymous with failure in providing responsible care and any act that undermines a child's healthy emotional development, including infringement of children's rights and mental exploitation. Thus there is an obvious need for discussions at a social and policy level, with consideration of the following. Laws and regulations regarding the abolishment of child corporal punishment need urgent review, and we must analyze standards of emotional abuse and neglect to draw obvious lines between disciplinary behavior and illegal, abusive behavior towards children. Also, we must state a uniform understanding of definitions and types of emotional abuse and neglect in the most specific ways possible. We must expand the definition of a perpetrator of child abuse not to the parents but to the actual perpetrator, and we must thoroughly study the definitions to avoid legal ambiguity. The subject to legal protection also needs expansion, so that the law requires anyone who provides childcare to report emotional abuse and neglect.

This study discusses policy recommendations for integrated child welfare management that extends the current managerial approach, public-private cooperations in child welfare management. To explore a better approach to child welfare management, we conducted focus interviews with experts and analyzed experts' advices and opinions. We found that experts put a value to legislate children and the establishment of the Framework Act on Children. It was also requested to establish a coherent administrative and reporting system for child welfare. Also, we should develop 'children's rights' and 'children's first interests' as measurable child policy evaluation indicators, and it is critical to expand the target of child welfare policies from 'children' to 'the entire family'. Last, children should be guaranteed dignity and rights as human beings. And the healthy life of children along with inclusive and fair education and welfare should go with policies and administrative services. As a result, there are two main reasons for putting together experts' opinions. First, integration in an organic and complementary sense for child welfare management of sustainable development. Second, integration in the sense of establishing a cooperative network that reflects the voices of children. This suggests the need for an integrated management plan of Korea's child welfare management in policy terms, and means that it should be done in a sustainable cooperative network in terms of children's rights.
