The purpose of this study was to compare risk factors of cardiovascular disease (CVD) to menopause and premenopausal women, and to examine the effects of aerobic capacity on CVD risk factors. The subjects were 106 middle-aged women under 40~60 years old and classified as postmenopausal women (53.1±3.1 years, n=49) and premenopausal women (45.5±3.7 years, n=57) in a questionnaire. Body composition, aerobic capacity (VO2max) and CVD risk factors (blood pressure, blood lipid, glucose) were measured as measurement variables. The correlation coefficient (r) was calculated by Pearson's product correlation. As a result, menopause women were significantly higher in body mass index, body fat, %body fat, SBP, DBP, TC, LDL-C and glucose than women before menopause (p<.05). VO2max was significantly higher for premenopausal women (24.9±5.0 mL/kg/min) than for menopause women (23.0±4.0 mL/kg/min) (p<.05). In addition, there were significant correlations between VO2max, body mass index (r= -.330), %body fat (r= -.451) and glucose (r= -.264) (p<.05). In conclusion, body composition, blood pressure, blood lipid and glucose are the major CVD risk factors affected by menopause, and CVD prevention is needed before menopause due to correlation with aerobic capacity.

In this study, the effects of elastic band exercise, one of resistance exercises, on cardiovascular risk factors and life stress were discussed for obese female college students in their 20s, and the following conclusions were drawn. In cardiovascular risk factors, body fat percentage decreased only in exercise group, and TC decreased in both groups, but not statistically significant in all factors. In the case of HDL-C, it increased in the exercise group and showed a significant result, and there was also an interaction effect. LDL-C showed decreased results in the exercise group and also had an interaction effect. In TG, it decreased in the exercise group and showed significant results. Lastly, Glucose showed a decreased result in the exercise group, showing a significant result in all factors, and an interaction effect. In life stress, α-amylase showed a decreased result in the exercise group, which was shown to have an interaction effect. In conclusion, the elastic band, a resistance exercise, has a positive effect on improving cardiovascular risk factors and reducing life stress for obese female students. It is expected that if progress is made by supplementing the form and intensity of exercise in the future, obesity can be improved and a pleasant college life can be spent.

This study analyzed the difference between β-amyloid, BDNF, and BDNF in 18 elderly people with mild cognitive impairment who are using the J-gu General Health Center to find out the effect of 12-week combined exercise proram on β-amyloid and BDNF for the elderly with mild cognitive impairment.
A significant increase in β-amyloids was shown in the exercise group (p<.05). There was no significant difference in the control group, but it was shown to increase. BDNF showed no significant difference between the exercise group and the control group, but increased in the exercise group.
The 12-week combined exercise program has been shown to have a positive effect on the decrease in β-amyloids and the increase in BDNF for the elderly with longitude cognitive impairment, and, combined with the above results, it is believed that it is more effective to do complex exercise than one exercise, anaerobic exercise and aerobic exercise.

The purpose of this study is to find out young children's basic life style, exercise capacity and formation of postures, analyze them and provide fundamental data for the development of guidelines related to their life style and physical activities. The subject of study is 288―144 children aged from three to five and 144 parents in P city.
The results are as follows. First, their basic life style by gender had a significant difference in hours per day of computer usage(p<.05), their basic life style by age had a statistically significant difference in the hour of rising(p<.05), bedtime(p<.01) and hours of sleep(p<.001). Second, their exercise capacity by gender showed a statistically significant difference in flexibility(p<.05), quickness(p<.05), balance on the right(p<.001). Their exercise capacity by age showed a statistically significant difference in all the exercise capacities such as total body endurance(p<.01), muscular strength on the right(p<.001), muscular strength on the left(p<.001), flexibility(p<.01), quickness(p<.001), flexibility duration of flight(p<.001), balance on the right(p<.001) and balance on the left(p<.001). Third, in the front left-right balance test, there was no significant difference in front left-right tilt angle, the distance of unbalance on the left and the tilted direction of entire body by gender and age, and only the tilted distance of the entire body on the side(right) showed a statistically significant difference(p<.01 ) in the s ide(right) balance test.
These results show that three-year-old children get up and go to bed early, four-year-old children get up late and go to bed early, and five-year-old children get up and go to bed late. With regard to their exercise capacity, there was a gender difference in flexibility, quickness and balance on the right, and all the exercise capacities gradually increased as they got older. Third, as they got older, the direction of entire body(to the right) tilted forward and became a front posture.

The study aims to identify research trend centered on keywords most frequently used in research on youth obesity with the topic of exercise during the recent 10 years (from 2000 to 2019) based on domestic academic journals published in the RISS. Keyword network analysis based on network algorithm was used. For the network text analysis, the SNA package of the R program (version 3.5.3) was adopted to extract major keywords based on frequency and to identify the connectivity between them.
First, in regards to “Physical Education as Liberal Education” research with the topic of exercise, physical education (52 times), class satisfaction (38 times) and general physical education (24 times) had high centrality measures.
Second, a total of 308 thesis papers were written between 2010 and 2019 with the keyword “Physical Education as Liberal Education.” As the research trend was compared based on the keywords used, the number of research decreased in 2011 and 2017, but it showed an upward trend in general. This phenomenon is considered to have occurred due to the change in the liberal education curriculum before and after 2010.
Third, as the centrality of research trends that have the keyword “physical education as liberal education” was analyzed, “physical education”, “class satisfaction”, “intention to continue exercise”, “participation motivation”, and “fun factor” were frequently found. While these keywords are related to class satisfaction, the background is considered to be due to the tendency that prioritizes class satisfaction when it comes to physical education.
As a result, it is found that Korea's physical education classes in universities are mainly conducted in a form that aims to improve class satisfaction of students and instructors rather than focusing on the main value of boosting health, sociality, and autonomy through physical activities. However, an important key to remember is that it is important to build up a foundation for university students to form an exercise habit while improving physical strength and cultivate it for the rest of their life by focusing on the main role of physical education. Therefore, it is considered that a multi-directional approach toward the diversification and activation of physical education as liberal education is needed.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects on anaerobic motor skills and physical strength after anaerobic exercise according to the weight class of Taekwondo players to identify the level of motor skills for each weight class of athletes and to provide basic data necessary to improve athletic performance. In accordance with the purpose of this study, a total of 8 participants, Taekwondo players, 4 light weight and 4 heavy weight, participated in the experiment. For data processing, the mean(M) and standard deviation(SD) of the measurement items were calculated using the SPSS statistics 21.0 program. In addition, an independent sample t-test was conducted to determine the significant difference according to the group, and all statistical significance levels were set to <.05. The results obtained according to the research method are as follows. First, as a result of comparing and analyzing the anaerobic athletic ability according to the weight class of Taekwondo, heavy weight athlete was statistically significant (p<.05). In addition, in the anaerobic capacity, indicating that the heavy weight athletes were statistically high (p<.01). Second, after the anaerobic exercise, the physical strength according to the weight class was measured and compared. As a result, there was mo difference in group between wits, flexibility, agility, and muscular endurance. The above results can be used as basic data fir training programs that can expect better performance for Taekwondo players and their leaders.

This study examined the effects of 16-week GO stepping exercise (GO-SE) on cognitive function, fall efficacy, and longevity fitness age (LFA) in elderly people in the welfare center. The subjects of this study were elderly women under 65-85 years of age who were recruited as publicity flyers for the Elderly Welfare Center in K City D. For the cognitive function, the Korean Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE-K) and the Falls efficacy scale were used for the Korean falls efficacy scale (FES-K). LFA was developed by converting the general score of daily life fitness factors into an age scale. For statistical processing, a paired t-test was conducted to examine the difference between each variable before and after GO-SE. The statistical significance level was 5%. Before and after GO-SE, there were significant differences in body weight and lean body mass, 5 chairs, standing time, and 5 m maximum walking. At the LFA, which converted the overall score of each fitness factor into an age scale, it was significantly lower than before exercise (77.0±5.7 yrs) and after 16 weeks (74.9±2.9 yrs) (p<.05). Cognitive function was significantly higher in MMSE-K before exercise from 26.8±1.5 to 29.0±1.3 after 16 weeks, and fall efficacy was significantly higher from 2.9±0.6 to 3.2±0.5 (p<.05). The conclusion is that the new GO-SE, which combines both cognitive exercise and easy-to-understand exercise tasks, improves cognitive function as well as falls prevention by improving the balance ability and fitness for the lower extremities of the elderly women.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of the warping path on gait patterns using the DTW algorithm. Participants in this study were consist of 20's age of 10males and 10 females. Gait data obtained by a 3D motion analysis system analyzed using the DTW program made by Matlab's functions. The analysis was performed 120 times including normal walking and abnormal walking. The length of the warping path relative to the reference sequences, and deviations was analyzed for the warping path calculated by the DTW program. The statistical method used in this study was a correlation, independent t-test, one-way ANOVA, and regression. The statistical significance level was α=.05. In this study, the correlation coefficient of Pearson was r=.816 between the warping path length and the deviation, and this relationship was verified by regression analysis. The statistically significant difference between normal walking and abnormal walking appeared in the warping path length and in the deviation. The analysis according to walking phases showed a statistically significant defference between the support phase and the swing phase. In conclusion, if the length of the warping path is greater than about 127% compared to the diagonal length between two sequences, normal walking can be suspected, and if the mean of the warping path length deviations is greater than about 5.8, normal walking can be suspected also.

Optimal protein supplementation is an essential consideration for maximizing adaptive responses and recovery ability from physical and physiological stress of high intensity resistance training. There are several timings of consuming protein supplements based on nutrient timing system such as pre-exercise (energy phase), post-exercise (anabolic phase), and pre-sleep (growth or adaptation phase). However, it is not yet established which protein timing is the most effective way to maximize the adaptive responses to resistance training. Thus, this review was carried out to suggest an optimal timing of protein supplementation by discussing the effects of each timing of protein intake (pre-exercise, post-exercise, both post-exercise and before sleep, both before and after exercise) on muscle adaptations to resistance training. Also, we provide scientific information to develop practical strategies of protein supplementation on prolonged resistance training by combining the results of previous studies. We expect our review to offer relevant information for developing a sport-specific optimal timing of protein ingestion for strength/power athletes.
