Purpose: This study aimed to investigate the mediating effect of resilience on the relationship between emotional labor and job satisfaction of nurses in long-term care hospitals. Methods: The subjects were 164 nurses of 15 long-term care hospitals in B city in Korea. The data were collected from April 1 to April 25 in 2018 and analyzed by descriptive statistics, Person's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression analysis. The mediating effect of resilience was examined by the verification process suggested by Baron and Kenny. Results: The reported mean score of job satisfaction was 3.10 points out of 5 points. There were statistically significant correlations among variables: negative correlations between emotional labor and job satisfaction, and between emotional labor and resilience; a positive correlation between resilience and job satisfaction. There was a partial mediating effect of resilience on the relationship between emotional labor and job satisfaction. Conclusion: Considering that resilience can play a vital role buffering the negative influence of emotional labor on job satisfaction of nurses in long-term care hospitals, resilience should be considered in developing programs to enhance job satisfaction for nurses in long-term care hospitals.

Purpose: This study aimed to find out the implications for the topic and design of hospice palliative care research by grasping the trends and methodological characteristics of the topic of hospice palliative care research published in domestic and international journals by domestic researchers. Methods: This study is a literature review that analyzes 389 hospice palliative care studies conducted in Korea from January 2014 to March 2019 and published in domestic and international journals. Results: As a result of this study, an average of 74 hospice palliative care articles has been published over the past five years. The most research subjects were the advance care planning of 22.1%, and Quantitative research accounted for the largest share of 71.5% in research design and 91.0% of them were non-experimental studies. In brief, the results of this study have been focused on advance care planning for the last five years, and the proportion of experimental research was low in terms of research design. Conclusion: In further studies, various research designs, such as experimental design, should be developed and attempted to build the foundation for evidence-based practice in hospice palliative care.

Purpose: This study was to identify influencing factors of club activity, relational self, and empathy on communication and leadership. Methods: The participants were 168 students enrolled in a nursing college. Data were analyzed using frequency analysis, descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and backward multiple regression analysis with SPSS Statistics 25. Results: The variables that affect the communication among nursing students were shown in order of cognitive empathy (β=.37, p<.001), avoidance relationship of relational self (β=-.32, p<.001), empathy-care of relational self (β=.28, p=.003), grade (β=.19, p=.002), type of university club (β=-.15, p=.028), overdependence to relation of relational self (β=-.15, p=.044), reason of joining university club (β=-.14, p=.037), instrumental relationship of relational self (β=.14, p=.038). The variables that affect the leadership of nursing students were shown in order of cognitive empathy (β=.59, p<.001), instrumental relationship of relational self (β=.25, p<.001), avoidance relationship of relational self (β=-.22, p<.001), grade (β=.20, p=.005), openness to participate in university club (β=-.13, p=.021), role in university club (β=.12, p=.043), reason of joining university club (β=.12, p=.028). Conclusion: The results of this study have shown that cognitive empathy is the a crucial factor in communication and leadership of nursing students.

Purpose: This study is for comparing gender egalitarianism and sexual harassment experienced by gender and providing a basis for the solution of sexual harassment. Methods: A mixed method design was used. Quantitative data were collected from 198 university and college students, and qualitative data were collected from 154 university and college students from an open-ended question on resolutions of sexual harassment. Results: The quantitative data represent that the average score of gender egalitarianism of female students and male students was 104.88±7.32 and 87.20±13.13, respectively. The average score of sexual harassment of female students and male students was 50.89±16.75 and 42.09±10.83 respectively. The Qualitative data indicated that the common resolutions of sexual harassment in female and male categories were classified by 4 main topics of education, regulation, improving awareness and personal behavior. Conclusions: Accordingly, it would be effective to prevent sexual harassment problem by subdividing the sexual education program systematically and strengthening the laws and regulations of punishment for offenders. It is needed to figure out sexual harassment occurrences, especially in each university and college, and make an effort to develop strict punishment regulations and organized manuals in advance.

Purpose: This study was aimed at investigating the effect of the use of social network services (SNS), body satisfaction, physical surveillance, and fat talk of female university students on appearance management behavior. Methods: The subjects received the questionnaire using the Google questionnaire program for female students at university in D and K. The survey was conducted from August 1, 2019 to August 14, 2019, and a total of 340 copies were used as final analysis data. The collected data were analyzed by using t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients and hierarchical multiple regression analysis. Results: It was found that the use of SNS, body satisfaction, physical surveillance, and fat talk were the factors influence appearance management behavior among female university students. These variables explained about 37.4% of the variance in appearance management behavior. Conclusion: The results of this study can be used as the basic data for the development of care programs that can limit the use of SNS, physical surveillance, and fat talk and would improve the healthy appearance management behavior of university students.
