This study aimed to examine the aesthetic expression forms through icon semiotics focusing on David and Sibilla Libica by Michelangelo as a representative artist of the Western art in the 16th century, and then to interpret movements and poses by applying it to ballet. Even though it was actually difficult to interpret the whole movements and poses of ballet through icon semiotics, this study aimed to suggest the possibility of interpretation in some parts.
The aesthetic expression forms of ballet are inevitable to have diverse changes in accordance with situation and history. Nevertheless, this study found out that there would be the characteristic and repetitive aesthetic expression forms of ballet which would be expressed into certain patterns.
It is impossible to fully explain such symbolic and diverse aesthetic expression forms of ballet art with simple signs. However, it is possible to symbolize and iconize the basic and essential aesthetic expression forms of ballet as an art. This new attempt would help more people to understand the aesthetic expression of ballet art and also to enjoy it more by narrowing down the gap between ballet art and audience. And if the results of this study are applied to the ballet education, there could be huge changes in the ballet education methodology.

The current study aimed to investigate the performative structure and principle of Dongnae Yaryu , developed as a cultural heritage of the Busan, South Korea. Traditionally, the dance was performed without strong structural and sequential rules in civil society.
Regarding the structure and sequence of the dance documented in this study, it starts with the fund raising in Dongnae jisinbapgi and have a tug-of-war game together. Then, the winner of tug-of-war leads the street performance in that evening which is followed by the Dongraehak Dance and the Dongrae Hanyang Dance.
Throughout the current study, this study revealed the following performative principles of the dance. First, the dance embraces and mixes the principle of live-together philosophy in a society and characteristics of individuals. Second, the dance also has a principle of three-dimensional expansion of spatial time, expanding the experience to a whole community, throughout a communication between the performer and gallery
It is expected to be used as a valuable research material that leads to creative succession at the performance site where actual transmission and preservation of Dongnae Yayu are mad.

The purpose of this study is to research effective dance educational methods based on Vygotsky' social constructivism theory. In order to find effective educational methods for dance, first, this study conducts theoretical research on constructivism and social constructivism. next, this study analyzes the relation between Vygotsky's social constructivism and dance education. Finally, this study find and suggest effective dance educational methods based on Vygotsky's social constructivism theory. In the conclusion, the study presents problem-based learning(PBL), cooperative Learning, and field-experience learning as effective dance educational methods in dance.

For this purpose, theoretical backgrounds and educational status of maker education that has been suggested as a educational method for the development of creative and convergent talents in preparation for the Fourth Industrial Revolution were intensively reviewed. In addition, an application 'Arts Play Card' developed by the Kookmin University Composite Arts Institute was investigated and a dance education program using this application was composed as a 12-session course.
This study has a significance as a proposal of art education based upon maker education, and it is expected that studies on the development of dance education programs utilizing media teaching tools and applications will be invigorated on the basis of the results of this study.

This study was attempted an aesthetical approach and discussed aesthetics that was started from Aristotle. Aesthetic experiences require aesthetic subjects and aesthetic objects. Besides, to be involved into aesthetic experiences, the Greeks believed that there's an important element which is catharsis except for sensation. That represents the fact that catharsis matches to an ecstasis of dance. Catharsis in here is a kind of form that mixes together all the remains except for aesthetic characteristics and leads to an artistic approach of ecstasis of dance. Thanks to this artistic approach, the art work of dance which is an external element of aesthetic experiences can be reached, leading an aesthetic subject of a dance composer to a new world. Generally a composer is only a creator, but can't be a performer. However in ecstasis in dance, a dance composer could be a creator and performer at the same time to feel his or her creation totally. The characteristic of dance that are distinctive from other art forms can be a reason why the ecstasis experience in dance could lead to an aesthetic experience. Thus, it can be said that ecstasis in dance includes an element of aesthetic experiences and also is an aesthetic experience itself due to its artistic roles.

This study is an attempt approaching the model of co-teaching to promote the expertise of the instructors who take charge of elementary school dance education, that is, teachers and art lecturers in the field of education, from the perspective of coaching. As a result of a discussion of the research questions, elementary school dance instructors' expertise could be summarized as follows: first, the teacher's knowledge and technical expertise in the dance subject; second, the expertise in the dimension of curriculum content teaching and methodology; third, the expertise in the understanding and management of learners; and fourth, the expertise for the abilities to utilize and integrate knowledge necessary for problem-solving in the teaching process. In dance education, the reconceptualization of 'coaching' has mostly been discussed through the definition of sports coaching. Also, it was found that coaching as a concretized methodology was borrowed in dance education while dance coaching was not defined. Along with this, in the reconceptualization of dance coaching, it would be desirable to let educational values coexist and circulate rather than differentiating or setting the boundary between teaching and coaching. As for the basic principle of class teaching between elementary school dance instructors (teachers and lecturers), they rotationally perform the following processes: first, understanding the type of the instructor; second, sharing life experiences; third, sharing educational and artistic experiences; fourth, finding and resolving the problems of the class; and fifth, encouraging inner motivation.

The purpose of this study was to develop the LMA dance education program for cultivating young children's dance literacy and to verify the effect of the program. In order to develop the program for young children's dance literacy, this study conducted the LMA dance education program for young children. From the analysis, the program was found to be effective in enhancing children's perceptual motor ability, creative physical expression ability, spatial ability and social ability.
The program developed in this study can be used as a positive example for the development of dance literacy in children.

Convergence is the trend of the 21st century. It is necessary to produce dance artists who can use excellent technniques, but more important task is fostering creative dance artists who can accomodate social changes and the stream of times. The art of dancing plays a creative role that controls and expresses one's mind and body. It is an art that has the merits of merging with various genres. Therefore, this research will explain dance arts education in the fourth industrial revolution era, focusing on the case study. Firstly, the arts of dancing in the fourth industrial revolution era should continue to evolve and genre, techniques and various functional areas of each art should be crossed over to the other as genre deconsturction. And through that, new techniques should be created. Secondly, I could discover convergence creative program which stimulates creative thiniking and ideas through cross-over between arts field and humanities & social science field can work through interaction and collaboration of each major field such as literature, art, video, dance, composition and performance. Thirdly, constituting principles of Creative Arts Program are developed mainly based on convergence education program where science and arts intersect, maker training which stimulates creavtive imagination, New York IMPACT program which produces creative dances. Fourthly, Creative Arts Program has an educational value which makes collaborative training possible by which various genres can exchange with one another effectively through experiencing the art of each specialty area. And self-directed participation and autonomous spontaniety are devolped, which paly a role of power source in contributing to the development of individuals and communities.

This study is intended to understand the meaning in visual perception based on Gestalt Principles of distorted body composition in contemporary dance. Since 2000, various formativeness experiments of body have been observed in contemporary dance. Functionality in the organic relationship of the body, that is, in terms of physical operation, is rejected and gives meaning to the body itself. The body appearing in this process is not just a sensory representation but an object and subject in the process of perception and thinking. This study aims to understand concepts, characteristics, expressions and symbols based on Gestalt's perceptual systematization principle embodied in contemporary dance, and to reconstruct body formative characteristics from the perspective of visual perception.

This study focuses on the dance results based on the survey results from the『Culture Enjoyment Survey』and『Seoul Citizens' Culture Enjoyment Survey』, which are regularly conducted by the state and local governments to grasp the culture and art enjoyment of the people in Korea. The purpose of this study was to find out the status of cultural enjoyment in the field of dance and to examine the possibility of promoting cultural enjoyment. The study examined the current state of cultural enjoyment and explored the flow and change process of dance field. This is a statistical result that can grasp the overall status of cultural enjoyment in the field of dance, and thus it is worth reflecting in future dance-related cultural policies in that it can be objectively diagnosed and compared with other cultural arts fields.
