본 논문은 시편의 구성적 접근법에 의거하여 시편 1권의 다윗의 신앙 인품과 5권의 다윗의 신앙 인품의 모습을 비교하여 고찰한다. 시편 1권에서의 다윗의 인품은 개인적인 측면이 강조되어 있고, 탄식시 모음집-인간론/사명-성전/하나님의 임재-지혜선생-탄식시 모음집의 주제가 차례로 나타난다. 1권에서의 다윗은 신앙이 깊이 성숙해가는 한 개인의 인품을 보여주면서 그 최종지점에서는 하나님 앞에 겸손히 의지하는 신앙의 모습을 보인다. 이러한 1권에 그려진 개인 차원에서의 다윗의 신앙적 인품은 5권에서 언약공동체 차원에서의 회복을 위한 다윗언약 성취의 모습으로 재반영된다. 첫째, 5권에서의 다윗은 단순한 개인 언약 당사자가 아닌 공동체성을 부각시키는 존재로 나타난다. 다윗은 언약공동체를 세우기 위해 하나님 앞에 겸손하게 자신의 허물과 연약을 인정하며, 하나님을 왕으로 부르고 있다. 둘째, 5권에서의 다윗은 하나님의 헤세드 즉 하나님의 언약 성실성을 자신에게만 제한시키지 않고 백성들 모두에게 해당되는 것으로 설명한다. 다윗은 하나님의 우주적 왕권을 인정하고 그에 복종하는 언약공동체의 일원으로서 자신을 인식하는 겸손한 신앙의 인품을 드러내고 있는 것이다. 이렇듯 1권의 개인차원의 다윗에 대한 묘사와 5권의 공동체적인 차원에서의 다윗에 대한 묘사가 연결, 발전되고 있음을 상호비교, 추적하여 살피는 것이 본 논문의 주요한 목적이며 학술적 기여이다.

This study purports to compare Davidic persona of Book I and that of Book V from the perspective of compositional understanding of the Psalter. The Davidic persona in Book I of the Psalter emphasizes its personal aspect as it continually develops various themes: lament, anthropology, divine presence, wisdom teaching, and finally lament once more. The David in Book I presents a picture of a person whose faith grows gradually until he finds himself genuinely shaped in the humility before God. The David in Book 5 develops the Davidic persona of Book I on the following fronts: First, David is depicted as a covenant accomplisher who enhances covenantal communality. He admits his own faults before God and calls God ‘the king,’ in order to build up the covenantal community. Second, Davidic persona in Book 5 applies the concept of hesed of YHWH to all communal members who acknowledge the universal kingship of YHWH. In a word, this connection between David in a personal aspect in Book I and David in a communal respect in Book V presents thematic, ethical developments, which is a contribution that this article attempts to make.
