본 연구는 어린이 및 청소년 교회학교를 중심으로 우리나라 교회교육의 회복을 위한 방안을 모색하기 위함이다. 이를 위하여 본 연구는 교회 및 교회교육 위기에 대한 기독교교육계의 입장을 소개하고 우리나라 교계 총회와 통계청이 발표한 자료를 근거로 우리나라 교회교육의 현실과 교회교육 쇠퇴의 원인을 논의한다. 본 연구에서 제기된 우리나라 교회교육의 현실은 교회학교의 쇠퇴, 교회교육본질의 이해 부족, 교회학교교사 자원 및 자질 부족 등이다. 교회교육 쇠퇴의 원인으로는 출생아 및 교육 인구의 감소, 교사의 사명감 및 준비 부족, 부모의 교회교육 중요성에 대한 인식 부족, 디지털 미디어 환경에의 적응 노력 부족으로 논의된다. 본 연구에서 제시한 우리나라 교회교육회복을 위한 방안은 교회교육 전문가 및 교사 양성, 교회교육 내실화, 부모교육의 활성화, 디지털 미디어의 적극적 활용을 논의한다. 교회교육은 어린이 및 청소년들이 새사람으로 거듭나서 하나님의 성품을 닮아 가도록하는 성화 곧 전 생애동안 하나님의 형상을 회복하는 일에 힘써야 한다.

This study aims to explore the strategies for restoring church education in Korea in related to the crises of church and church education in the 21st century. In order to do that, this study introduces the views of Christian educator on the crises of church and church education. In this study, first of all, contemporary situations of church education of Korea and the causes of church education weakness are described in the view of the mainline denominations in Korea and Statistics Korea. The contemporary church education of Korea shows the decrease of church school, misunderstanding for concept of nature of church education, small numbers of church teachers and their poor qualities. The causes of church education weakness are discussed in the light of the numbers of new born babies and the population of education, missions of church teachers and preparation of church teachers, the recognition of importance of church education, and accommodation of digital media environment. This study suggests strategies for recovering church education such as educating teachers of church, vitalizing parents education, using digital media positively. This study is concluded that church schools should lay the emphasis on children and youth education in order to restore God``s image in their lives.
