연구자는 2000년대에 발표된 성장소설들 가운데 박민규의 「그렇습니까? 기린입니다」와 김애란의 「달려라 아비」를 중심으로 환상성이 구현된 성장소설이 90년대의 성장소설과는 어떤 점에서 차이가 있는지를 밝혔다. 그리고 이들 성장소설들이 부재하는 아버지에 대한 원망과 현실에 대한 타협대신에 환상적인 공간에서 아버지와의 유대를 통한 가족서사의 재구성을 보여주고 있음을 밝혔다. 아울러 김주영의 「고기잡이는 갈대를 꺾지 않는다」와 같은 그 이전 시대의 성장소설과는 달리, 이들 소설들이 주인공의 성장을 현실 타협이나 부재하는 아버지에 대한 원망이 아닌, 환상적 공간에서의 유대를 통해 새로운 가족 서사를 보여줌을 밝혔다. 연구자의 이러한 논의들이 한국 성장소설의 현단계와 발전에 대한 연구의 초석을 다지는 것이 되길 바란다. 아울러 환상성이 구현된 성장소설의 가치와 힘에 대한 인식을 통해 성장의 과정에서 환상성이 갖는 의의에 대한새로운 시각이 촉발되기 바란다.

The researcher examined how the growth novel representing the fantasy differs the growth novel in a 1990``s focusing Park Min Kyu``s 「So that? I``m a giraffe」 and Kim Ai Ran``s 「Father! rush」 out of the growth novels published in a 2000``s. And, examined that these growth novels showed the reconstruction of a family narrative through the band with a father in a fantastic space in stead of the hatred about the absent father and the compromise with the actuality. In addition, differently to the growth novel in a previous era such as Kim Ju Young``s 「A fisherman don``t snap the reed」, examined that these novels showed the character``s growth in an aspect of a new family narrative not only the reality compromise and the hatred about the absent father but also the band in a fantastic space. The researcher hopes that these examinations are the foundations about the research about the present phase and development in a korean growth novel. In addition, hopes the being excited of a new viewpoint about the sense of a fantasy in a growth process through the comprehension the value and the power of a growth novel representing a fantasy.
