The purpose of this study was to explore ways to prevent school violence, especially bullying and bullying-oriented school violence, and figure out how sport itself is a long-term resolution for bullying and school violence. In addition, this article suggests an after school sport program that the youth would not only pursue competition and winning but also experience a desirable sport culture. Bullying used to be coming together with school violence has been one of the hottest issues in the Korean society. It looks similar in other countries like the U. S. Bullying and school violence has been one of the major cause of death among the youth in Korea and the U. S. Therefore, people in both countries have implemented various prevention programs to decrease bullying and school violence. This article firstly looks at diverse bullying and school violence prevention programs in the U. S. to find out its applicability into Korea. In addition, this article demonstrates how sport itself is a long-term resolution for bullying and school violence. It claims at the end that a desirable sport culture, in spite of sport-innate curability, should be pursued.
