This paper is aimed to develop an electrical fife detection system (EFDS) which can analyze the pos­sibility of electrical fire for overcurrent, leakage current and arc signals of panel board in traditional market shop. The EFDS adopted fuzzy logic and precursory data for overcurrent, leakage current and arc signals to evaluate the possibility of electrical fire. The signals are obtained directly from panel board in traditional market shops and fuzzy membership function is obtained from experiment, simulation, expert`s advice. The overcurrent data is acquired by thermal data of normal and abnormal states (partial disconnection) on the insulated electrical wire, in accordance with the increase of the current signal, The leakage current data is obtained under various environments. The arc signal is acquisited by waveforms of instantaneous value in time domain and frequency band in frequency domain. The Fuzzy algorithm for DB of EFDS consists of fuzzification, inference engine by Mamdani`s method and defuzz­ification by center of gravity method. In order to verify the performance and reliability of EFDS, it was applied to Jeon-lu traditional market shops (90 shops) in Korea. Results show that EFOS in this paper is useful in alanning the fire case, which will prevent severe damage to human beings and properties, and reduce the electricalftres in a vulnerable area of electrical disaster.

The falling accidents have increased in the structure and heavy industries. Therefore, a various falling prevention systems with safety block and lanyard have been supplied in order to prevent fiilling accidents and acquire the long life and cost down for the maintenance. However, there are not the reliable and domestic the falling prevention system until now. Almost systems were imported from U.S.A, Japan, U.K and Germany. The structural safety of the imported safety block is satisfied sufficiently, but it has heavy weight due to the cover with the alumi?num and thickness. So, many workers are not feeling themselves. Thus, the aim of this work is to develop a com?mercial safety block that has a light weight and strength. And the cost efficiency of the system and safety for workers also will be improved remarkably.

The discharge properties of super high-pressure mercury lamp are due to resistance heating for energy input, and resuJts in temperature increase. The cooling equilibrium state is reached by the heat conduction, convection and radiation. in order to predict the fluid flow and heat transfer in and around the mercury lamp accurately, its visu­alization is of utmost importance. Such visuaJization is carried out by CFD program in this study. We focus on Anode shape to calculate four cases, namely AA, AB, AC and AD separately, and compare the temperature distribution and velocity vector in each case to predict cooling capacity and fluid flow properties. It can be concluded that the shape of anode plays an important role that affects the fluid flow and heat transfer .in a mercury lamp.

Recently, the combined power plants are refocused rapidly as a replaceable energy system of the nuclear power plant. The large turbine is revolved highly at 1800-3600 rpm. Thus, the turbine speed should be monitored with mechanical and electrical method for a safety. The electrical cutoff valve which blocks the flow channel with the electrical signal is with a built in. The aim of this study is to develop a manufacturing technology through by the localization of a solenoid actuated directional control valve. Especially the results show perfoanances of the solenoid valve by the experiments and modeling and the reliability estimation, Applied load port pressure was changed rapidly on the fonn of a quadratic curve over time. And in the cases of square waveform when 0-100 V and 20-120 V input voltage, it was driven on a stable state WltiJ 13.4Hz and 16.6 Hz, respectively. We think that this study will give useful data for the electricity safety system of the combined power plant gas turbine.

This paper deals with the problem of fault diagnosis for identifying a single fault when the number of assumed faults is larger than that of predictive variables. Principal component analysis (PCA) is employed to iso­late and identify a single fault. PCA is a method to extract important information as reducing the number of large dimension in a process. The patterns of all assumed faults can be recognized by PCA and these can be employed whether a new fault is one of predefined faults or not. Through peA, empirical models for analyzing patterns can be trained. When a single fault occurs, the pattern generated by PCA can be obtained and this is used to identify a fault. The performance of the proposed approach is illustrated in the actuator benchmark problem.

In this thesis, fracture tests were carried out in order to investigate the flexural strength behavior of FRC(fiber reinforced concrete) structures. FRC beams were used in the tests, the initial crack load and the ultimate load of the beams were observed under the static loading. According to the results, the ultimate loads increase with the fiber content, and these tendency is clear in the specimens with large fiber aspect ratio. From the results of the regression analysis, practical formulae for predicting the flexural strength of FRC were suggested.

Since most construction workers comprehend information on work through sight, the importance of safety signs are increasing by the day. In Korea, due to the sharp economic progress and the higher standard of the work­force, since the end of 1980, each year the number of foreign workers entering the country who working simple tech­nical jobs have increased this condition. This study researched safety signs, which are the fmal accident prevention measures at the workplace. Based on the study, comprehension of the standard safety signs of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) was lacking at a level of 2.5. Also, the perception level of the Industry Public Safety Law (38%) was very low. And, it was found that sex and experience or non-experience in safety training was not an issue in the level of understanding. However, when satisfYing the standards of the Occupational Safety and Health Act and changing the safety signs, the level of understanding went up to 3.49 and the perception level was increased signifi­cantly to 70%. Thus, it is concluded that, since the foreign workers are mainly from non-English speaking countries and because the workers of Korea are not familiar with English, in order to provide proper safety infonnation, there must ftrst of aU be simplistic and concise pictograms. This will provide needed information and must be coupled with simple Engush words that can give additional information to the worker and be effective in helping him understand and perceive the safety sign. Also, it has been detennined that the existing forms of safety signs and their effective­ness in industry accident prevention must be reassessed.
