본 연구는 아동의 놀이성과 친구관계 질이 학교적응에 미치는 상대적 영향력을 밝히는 데 목적이 있다. 청주시의 초등학생 3-5학년 504명을 대상으로 놀이성, 친구관계 질, 학교적응 각 변인에 대한 설문조사를 실시하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 통계프로그램을 통해 분석되었다. 변인 간 단순상관관계를 분석하기 위해 Pearson 적률상관계수를 구하였고, 놀이성과 친구관계 질이 학교적응에 미치는 영향과 그 상대적 영향력을 알아보기 위해 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 연구결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 아동의 놀이성과 친구관계 질은 학교적응 하위변인 중 교우관계에 가장 큰 영향을 미쳤다. 둘째, 사회적 적극성과 탐구심이 높고, 친구관계의 긍정적 기능과 만족감 수준이 높은 아동이 학교적응을 잘하는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 놀이성이 친구관계 질보다 학교적응에 대해 보다 높은 설명력을 보였고, 놀이성 하위요인인 사회적적극성이 학교적응에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 요인으로 나타났다. 이는 학령기 놀이성의 중요성을 확인하고, 학교생활적응을 예측하는 설명요인들을 밝힘으로써 체계적 개입을 위한 기초자료를 제공하였다는 점에서 의의가 있다.

This study examined the impact of playfulness and friendship quality on the school Adjustment Process of Children. The subjects consisted of 504 elementary school students from 3rd to 5th grade in Chung-ju Province. They completed questionnaires on children`s playfulness, friendship quality, and school adjustment. Data were analyzed by means of Pearson`s correlation coefficients and multiple regression. The results were as follows. First, the adjustment on Friend Relationship in Children`s School Adjustment was the most relative sub-variable to Children`s Playfulness and Friendship Quality. Second, Social Positivity and Inquisitive Mind in Playfulness and Positive Function and Satisfaction in Friendship Quality had positive relationships to children`s school adjustment. Third, playfulness helped explain school adjustment more so than children`s friendship quality. Social positivity had the most explanatory power when it came to children`s school adjustment amongst all sub-variables. Therefore, this paper successfully verified the significance of children`s playfulness and also provided the fundamental data regarding the school adjustment process of children.
