Some postmodernism writers like to reutilize or rewrite parts of other texts in their work as a form of citation either explicit or implicit, putting them in a particular network of intertextuality. And the cited textual parts may come to imply certain new senses in contexts different from their original own. This is possible because of the intrinstriproperties of verbal language. ins Saussure indicated, there cdifbe a kind of ``chasm``fbet.ien the stgnifiant and the signifie in symbolic signs as a result of their arbitrary correlation, and this chasm may permit intruding of some other connotations. So every rewriting contribute create new senses. In this point, rewriting may be compared with the three types of translation suggested by Roman Jakobson: intra-linguistic, inter-linguistic, and inter-semiotic translation. Of course there is a fundamental difference between rewriting and translation. Rewriting aims to reuse textual fragments in order to charge them with somewhat new connotations, while translation wants to say in a different way the same thing that says the original text. But every translation inevitably results in saying something different, and so translation can be regarded as a form of rewriting. And in consequence both activities contribute to create new senses in different context.

What is the ultimate condition of the possibility of language? Where is the boundary which separate the linguistic world and the pre-linguistic? How can pre-linguistic elements like noise become human words? Regarding Derrida`s Of Grammatology (1967) and Deleuze`s Logic of Sense (1969) as responses to those ancient questions since Plato and Aristotle, I analyse in this paper two texts so as to make clear the senses of two key concepts, archi-writing and event, which play respectively fundamental role in each book. And I compare two concepts so as to make appear the main points where they converge and diverge. In this work of comparison, I intend finally to show two different philosophical ways of appropriating structuralism and two different ways of post-structuralist philosophy of language.

The poet Do-hyun Ahn wrote the novel Jjajangmyeon in 2000 for adults. This work was recreated as Comic Jjajangmyeon in 2003 by two comic artists, Gyu-suk Choi and Gi-hyun Byun. On the transformation of his original work into a comic book, Ahn commented that "the illustrations work unexpectedly to stimulate poetic imagination" and give the "illusion of witnessing a refreshing watercolor painting". He also added that the comic "Jajangmyeon" should be read slowly to be appreciated. Ahn`s evaluation of the transformation of his work into a comic book introduces a very useful perspective on interpretation for appreciating not the original text but the new text as cultural content. That is, Ahn`s observation gives clues to how the contents of the original text and the comic book differ as well as indicate what the reader should be focusing on in understanding the contents. This study examines how the characteristics of the comic materialize in the process by which the word-centered text becomes transformed into the comic, a multifarious sign of words, pictures, and colors. Further, it considers the ways in which the storytelling intended by the comic artist comes to have value as cultural content.

L`objectif de ce travail pretend une presentation de notre livre paru en Europe a l`automne 2010 sous le titre de Figure et Rencontre, Approche semiotique du roman de Georges Bernanos, Sous le Soleil de Satan. En effet, ce livre est une reproduction de notre these (soutenue en janv. 2007 a l`universite de Lyon II) qui vise a appliquer la theorie semiotique elaboree au Cadir. Dans cet article, il s`agit d`eclairer deux mots-cles de notre livre: figure et rencontre, et leur rapport. La precision de la portee de ces deux termes permet d`une part a les considerer comme outil de travail semiotique. D`autre part, l`analyse semiotique du roman de Bernanos, Sous le soleil de Satan, roman qui a suscite d`ailleurs de violentes discussions des sa parution en 1926 pour les representations du Mal que l`auteur y decrit, permet de souligner l`importance de la rencontre dans le parcours des personnages (figure d`acteur) et l`importance de la parole dans une relation intersubjective que la rencontre met en discours. Dans la rencontre, s`il s`agit de devoiler le desir profond qui l`anime, ce n`est plus le savoir-exact sur les paroles qui conduira l`adhesion de l`interlocuteur, mais la confiance et la foi qu`il mettra en lui. L`analyse semiotique (particulierement les dimensions figuratives et enonciatives du discours) appliquee aux sequences de rencontres qui jalonnent le roman et le parcours des protagonistes, a montre comment, dans le dialogue, la ``force enonciative`` de la parole circule entre les acteurs; si l`interlocuteur adhere aux paroles entendues ou s`y oppose, c`est qu`il a ete touche profondement par la parole qui sollicite ou evoque son proper et pressant desir. Ainsi lire SSS en semiotique nous permet d`approfondir d`une part les questions surgies dans l`intersubjectivite, et d`autre part la theorie semiotique.

This paper`s aim is to reappropriate the understanding of Jacques Derrida`s De la grammatologie with a theatrical approach. So this paper will examine how Derrida`s deconstructive thinking provides implications for a boundary that two distinct theatrical existent modes, i.e. dramatic script and staging a play, define as themselves. This work is expected to have a special meaning for suggesting ecriture`s performative aspect and its significance. By studying theatrical textuality through deconstructive works about theatrical metaphysics, this paper will try to elucidating ecriture`s performativity. Therefore, the problematics which this paper cares deeply about are the limits of theatrical metaphysics. For example, they are the dramatist-based approach and director-based approach when theatrical practices happen. At this moment, the strategies which this paper sets up are to overturn language-body`s hierarchical relations that theartical discourse has repeated. To sum up, dramatic script and staging a play are mutual supplementary as a iterable relationship. As a result, this paper intends to investigate the iterability of theater, namely, differantial repetition, textual undecidebility, and citational semiosis, in which making is remaking, and representation is poiesis.

This study examined the narrative characteristics and origin of ``lying`` oral narratives that have been orally transmitted in Korea with literary and semiotic viewpoints. ``Lying`` oral narratives consist of several levels, from short stories exhibiting only delicateness of expression to long ones that also exhibit delicateness of content. Regardless of length, however, they can all be categorized as ``lying`` oral narratives, and thus it is necessary to explain the unique nature of these narratives. There have been few studies on ``lying`` oral narratives, and no attempt has been made to analyze them as a separate type of oral narrative. Thus, regarding ``lie`` oral narratives as an independent form of orally transmitted narrative, this study analyzed their narrative characteristics and presented everyday, goal-oriented, paradoxical, and argumentative characteristics. In addition, when we consider that lies are not a desirable form of discourse but still have elements capable of attracting people`s interest (or are worthy to be valued positively), the characters in ``lying`` oral narratives are comparable with ``tricksters`` in myths. This suggests that the origin of ``lying`` oral narratives is in myths, which are representative products of an oral society that invests the ``word`` with authority. In other words, we may see ``lying`` oral narratives as variations of oral cultural memories of mythological tricksters in the transmitters of these ``lying`` oral narratives.

A premiere vue, les ideologies et le corps de l`homme semblent representer deux mondes differents, l`un sprituel et l`autre materiel. Mais il est un fait evident que le corps parle et possede son propre langage, et nous savons que langage presuppose code au sens semiotique du terme. Or, tout code est toujours fruit d`une certaine ideologie. Le but essentiel de cet article etait donc de comprendre quels sont les raports corps/ideologie et nous sommes parvenu a dire qu`il y a un double rapport de signifiant (ou de determination) etant donne que l`ideologie categorise une appartenance a une classe socio-culturelle qui a son tour modele un corps adequat ainsi que son langage. Nous sommes persuade que cette double determination explique, du moins en partie, que le corps est sujet primaire dans tout acte de communication puisque nous analysons toujours visuellement la personne avant de lui adresser la parole, ce qui veut dire aussi que le corps, exprimant en avant premiere sa propre personne, ne peut jamais garder le silence tant qu`il a une forme vivante et sociale. Ceci voudrait dire aussi que le corps est langage et "design" (au sens architectural du terme) malgre lui, donc parfois inconscent ou involontaire mais toujours en avant garde dans tout contact humain.

Cette etude a pour but de verifier la theorie de la configuration de la lumiere developpee par J. Fontanille en l`appliquant a de Georges de La Tour. Comme les peintures baroques sont caracterisees avec leurs effets flamboyants de la lumiere, nous avons realise avec cette etude une interaction entre l`histoire d`art et la semiotique. La configuration de la lumiere s`avere assez effective pour interpreter avec ses quatres effets du sens: eclat, eclairage, matiere et chromatisme. L`etat actuel de la semiotique de la lumiere, cependant, n`arrive pas au statut assez universel et puissant pour surmonter l`approche de Panofsky, car elle manque les points indispensables qui constituent la semiotique des passions: mise en modele des problemes de la modulation et de l`aspectualisation effectues dans les messages visuels.

This study was conducted on the assumption that news coverage of media affects construction of reality of audiences, and examines the coverage patterns of news about ``2008 Candlelight Rally`` and its ideological meanings. The objects of research are news report articles from April 1st to August 31st of 2008 in Chosun ilbo and Hankyoreh Shinmun. Focusing on Baek`s Semiotic Network Analysis(SNA) and discourse analysis, the research was conducted with the news coverage patterns and SNA of news texts, and discourse structure. The results are as follows. Difference of phase 1 through SNA is the cause of movement which ``Chosun ilbo`` indicates ``MBC PD Diary`` unlike ``Hankyoreh Shinmun``. In phase 2, Chosun ilbo shows some elements of ``Changes of features of Candlelight Rally``, ``suspicion of secret syndicates of Rally``, and ``Seriousness on diffusion of false information in Internet media``. However, unlike Chosun ilbo, they criticized ``conservative press`` and ``government`` insisting about ``usefulness of internet media``, ``voluntary participation of attendees`` and ``suspicion of syndicates``. In phase 3, Chosun ilbo and Hankyoreh Shinmun criticized each other`s distorted news coverage in relation with controversial issue about intentional distortion of ``MBC PD Diary`` and ``oppressing movement of conservative newspaper advertiser``. In phase 4, there appeared some elements meaning ``termination of Candlelight Rally`` in Chosun ilbo. Meanwhile, elements related to ``continuation of Candlelight Movement`` appeared in Hankyoreh Shinmun, so both two papers showed semiotic signs about the inclination of their ideologies. For the result of discourse analysis, there was a big difference between two papers. From first phase to fourth, Chosun ilbo dealt about ``negative discourse of Candlelight Rally`` and ``pro-government discourse``, and ``pro-pro US policies discourse``, while Hankyoreh Shinmun showed opposite discourses such as ``positive discourse of Candlelight Rally``, ``anti-government discourse``, and ``Anti-pro US policies discourse``. Eventually, two newspapers showed that whenever newspaper companies produce news articles, they made those coincide with their ideological features, or build new meanings through the process connecting with other events. Finally, these two newspapers mentioned that when public opinions made news about the question pending, they proceed their news to unite their Ideological Meanings or they made new ideological meaning.

The Lyric focus on the inner world of people, while the narrative is an act of report about the external events. Therefore, we can find the worlds which are reproduced in the language through narratives and compare these worlds and the real worlds where we actually think and act. Often the narrative is divided into two categories, one is historical narrative and the other is fictional narrative. But in oral tale, it is difficult to distinguish between history and fiction. Oral tale is old traditional narrative which was passed on to people in a oral cultural system. People believe myths to be true, regard legend as historical fact. But the main feature of folk tale(民譚) is fictionality. It is difficult to confirm what is the historical text and what is the fictional text in the oral tales. Therefore when understanding narrativity of oral tale, it is necessary to research into the worlds and the relationships of these worlds which narrative texts being presented. The oral tales have very wide spectrum of possible world and that of the relationship. The aspects of connection between empirical worlds which are regarded as real world by the audience and the speaker in the community of tales and fictional worlds of the oral tales are as follows. The first is that empirical worlds and the fictional worlds are consistent. The second, fictional world become cause or result of empirical worlds or empirical worlds. Finally, the fictional world and the empirical worlds are combined depending on a particular law. These three types are related to the feature and law of three types of sign: icon, index and symbol.
