본 연구에서는 놀이치료자의 5요인 성격특성이 심리적 소진에 미치는 영향에 대해 알아보고자 하였다. 연구대상은 놀이치료자 81명을 대상으로 하였다. 놀이치료자의 심리적 소진을 측정하기 위해서 박희현과 김광웅(2005)이 개발한 아동상담자 심리적 소진 척도를 사용하였으며, 5요인 성격특성에 대한 질문지는 Goldberg(1999)가 개발한 IPIP(International Personality Item Pool)를 유태용, 이기범, Ashton(2004)이 번안하고 이영란(2006)이 사용한 것을 사용하였다. 수집된 자료는 SAS 통계 프로그램을 사용하여 분석하였다. 연구대상의 일반적 특성을 알아보기 위하여 빈도와 백분율을 산출하였고, 놀이치료자의 5요인 성격특성과 심리적 소진 간의 관계를 알아보기 위하여 Pearson의 상관계수를 산출하였다. 또한 놀이치료자의 5요인 성격특성이 심리적 소진에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위해 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 본 연구의 결과를 살펴보면 첫째, 놀이치료자의 5요인 성격특성과 심리적 소진의 관계를 알아보기 위해 상관관계를 조사한 결과 놀이치료자의 5요인 성격특성 중 신경증은 심리적 소진 각각의 하위요인과 심리적 소진 전체와 정적인 상관관계를 나타냈다. 놀이치료자의 5요인 성격특성 중 개방성은 심리적 소진 하위요인 중 직업적 회의와 심리적 소진 전체와 부적상관관계를 나타냈다. 놀이치료자의 5요인 성격특성의 하위요인 중 성실성은 심리적 소진 하위요인 중 직업적 회의, 상담에 대한 부정적 태도, 심리적 소진 전체와 부적상관관계를 나타냈다. 둘째, 놀이치료자의 5요인 성격특성이 심리적 소진에 미치는 영향을 알아본 결과, 놀이치료자의 5요인 성격특성 중 신경증, 개방성, 성실성은 심리적 소진을 유의미하게 예측하였다. 셋째, 놀이치료자의 신경증이 심리적 소진 하위요인 중 정서적 소모를 예측하는 변인으로 나타났다. 신경증과 개방성이 심리적 소진 하위요인 중 직업적 회의를 예측하는 변인으로 나타났다. 신경증과 성실성이 심리적 소진 하위요인 중 상담에 대한 부정적 태도를 예측하는 변인으로 나타났다. 신경증과 개방성이 심리적 소진 중 신체화 증상을 예측하는 변인으로 나타났다.

The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of the five major personality factors on the burnout of the play therapist. The subjects of this study were 108 play therapists. Child Counsel Burnout Inventory (2005), International Personality Item Pool(2004) were assessed. Using SAS statistical program, the collected data were analyzed by Pearson`s correlation and multiple regression analysis. The results of the study were as follows: First, neuroticism of the play therapist`s five major personality factors showed significant positive correlations with the subfactor of burnout and the total score of burnout. Openness of play therapist showed significant negative correlations with doubt of job and the total score of burnout. Among the play therapist`s five major personality factors, the conscientiousness showed negative correlation with subfactors of burnout which consist of doubt of job, negative attitude to counseling, and the total score of burnout. Second, the results showed that neuroticism, openness, conscientiousness of play therapist`s five major personality factors affect burnout. Third, the study showed that neuroticism affects emotional exhaustion and that neuroticism and openness affect doubt of job in the subfactor of burnout. It also showed that neuroticism and conscientiousness affect negative attitude to counseling and that neuroticism and openness affect symptoms of somatization in the subfactor of burnout.
