최근 한국 학계에서 디지털인문학이 새로운 경향으로 부상하고 있다. 2012년 디지털인문학에 대한 관심이 본격적으로 제기되기 시작한 후 2014년부터 디지털인문학이 정부지원사업의 항목으로 지정되었으며, 전국단위 학술행사에서 디지털인문학을 다루는 횟수가 점차 증가하고 있다. 그런데 디지털인문학에 대한 기존의 관심 대부분은 연구 성과를 콘텐츠로 가공해서 대중화하는 작업, 디지털시대에 발맞춘 교육과정 개발에 초점을 맞추고 있다. 그것과 차별화되는 사례로 대만의 디지털인문학은 연구의 설계와 과정에서 방법론적으로 디지털기술을 활용하는 연구에 중점을 둔다. 한편 본질적으로 디지털인문학의 방법은 개념사연구와 친화성을 지닌다. 언어분석을 통해 개념의 형성과 변천을 거시적으로 조망하는 개념사 연구에 디지털인문학의 언어정보분석과 빅데이터분석이 그 성격에 부합하기 때문이다. 따라서 디지털인문학은 개념사 연구의 혁신을 성취하는 계기가 된다. 한국과 대만의 개념사 연구자들은 이미 상당 기간 개념사와 디지털인문학의 결합이 갖는 긍정적 의미에 공감하고 장기적 전망 속에서 지속 발전과 협력을 도모해 왔다. 한국에서 디지털인문학과 개념사의 결합은 디지털인문학의 외연을 기존의 문화/ 인문콘텐츠, 자료전산화, 디지털인문학 교육에서 연구 혁신 분야로 확장한다는 의미도 갖는다. 궁극적으로 개념사와 디지털인문학의 결합은 개념사와 한국의 디지털인문학 모두에게 새로운 도약의 계기가 된다.

Recently, the Digital Humanities (DH) have arisen as a new trend in Korean academic studies, starting from 2012, when the Korean Government launched a DH project. The focus of these efforts has been in the cultural sphere, transforming our understanding of the achievements of the humanities by utilizing digital technology. DH has also flourished in Taiwan, where digital technology has been applied to all kinds of research processes, and in particular to conceptual history, which has a natural affinity with DH. The main methods of conceptual history, language analysis and macro-analysis, are closely related to the analysis of linguistic information and big data investigated by DH. Conceptual history researchers in both Korea and Taiwan have already found the combination of conceptual history and DH to be a fruitful partnership which shows long-term potential. This combination also promises to help enlarge the area to which DH is applied in Korea, by examining cultural content through digitizing texts and constructing databases; and DH education should provide a spur to innovation in academic research. Ultimately it is hoped that the combination of conceptual history and DH can raise the profile of both fields.
