The purpose of this study was to examine the mediating effect of self-regulation ability on the relationship between parent-child communication and child's school life adaptation. A total of 375 students(4~6 grade) participated in this study. There were findings. First, child's school life adaptation were positively and significantly correlated with parent-child communication, self-regulation ability. Second, self-regulation ability was partially mediated on the relationship between the parent-child communication and school life adaptation. Based on these findings, it is necessary to educate parents on the importance and methods of open and intimate communication. It is also necessary to provide children with programs that can improve their self-regulation ability.

This study examined the effects of maternal parenting behavior and paternal parenting behavior on media device addiction. The study sample was 1177 elementary school third graders (602 boys, 575 girls) who had participated in the tenth wave of the Panel Study on Korean Children (PSKC). The data were analyzed using Pearson's correlations and regression analysis with SPSS 23.0. The results are as follows. First, maternal parenting behavior and paternal parenting behavior had a significant correlation on children's media device addiction. Second, maternal parenting behavior and paternal parenting behavior are predict variables for children's media device addiction. These results add to a better understanding of the mechanism linking maternal parenting behavior and paternal parenting behavior on media device addiction. These findings can serve as an important contribution to future research and practices for reducing children's media device addiction.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect and the path of mothers' psychological characteristics on the school readiness of 5 year children through the mediation of social skill. For this purpose, the 7th year data of the Panel Study on Korean Children (PSKC) of Korea Institute of Child Care and Education were used. The data were collected from 1,115 infants attending kindergartens and daycare centers among 1,620 infants aged 72 to 79 months and their mothers. To examine the relationship and effect size of each variable, the structural model was statistically processed and the fit of the model was very good. The results of the analysis of the final model reflecting both the direct effect of mothers' psychological characteristics on the children's learning readiness and the indirect effect on the school readiness through the social skills, showed that the psychological characteristics of mothers were not directly related to their children's school readiness. However, the psychological characteristics of mothers indirectly influenced on the children's school readiness through the social skill. Also, the significance of the mediation effect was verified through bootstrapping.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of self-control focused group game play therapy on the improvement of peer relations of aggressive children. The research target is four fifth graders who have difficulty in peer relations due to their aggressive behavior at K elementary school in D city, and self-control focused group game play therapy was conducted a total of 10 times for five weeks, twice a week. The results of the study are as follows. First, it affected children's aggressiveness and sub-areas: physical aggression, verbal aggression, bypass aggression, negativity, excitement and hostility. Second, it influenced children's peer relationships and sub-areas: help, exclusivity, recognition, self-expression, and conflict resolution. Third, peer-relationship skills such as cooperation, self-assertion and self-control have increased within the session. Therefore, self-control focused group game play therapy can be verified as effective case study to improve peer relations of aggressive children.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of self-expression-focused group play therapy on the peer relationship of children with emotional withdrawal. First, we investigated the change of peer relations of children with emotional withdrawal. Second, the self-expression-focused group play therapy investigated the change of the peer relationship of the child with emotional withdrawal in reported by the teacher. Third, the self-expression- focused group play therapy is to investigated the change of peer relations skill behaviors of children with emotional withdrawal. The study subjects were four children who were referred to U-City G Children's Center for atrophy and over 70T in the atrophic area of K-CBCL. In order to investigate the changes of peer relations, children's peer relationship test and teacher peer relationship test were compared to compare pre-post scores. Behavioral frequency was measured according to technical behavior observation scale (peer-matching behavior, self-expression behavior). The results of this study are as follows. First, self-expression-focused group play therapy improved in peer relationship of children with emotional withdrawal. Second, self-expression-focused group play therapy improved the peer relationship of the child with emotional withdrawal reported by the teacher. Third, self-expression-focused group play therapy improved children's peer relationship skills (peer-to-peer behavior, self-expressive behavior) behaviors with emotional withdrawal.

The purpose of this study was to find out if the group theraplay program had a positive effect on sociality development by applying it to withdrawal children. The subjects of the study were among the children aged 4 and 5 who were enrolled in a daycare center in Daegu, 20 children who were 65T or more in the withdrawal area of the K-C-TRF (Korean version of Caregiver-Teacher Report Form) with 10 in a test group and 10 in a control group. Data for effect verification were processed by a one-way ANOVA based on SPSS 22.0 pre-and post-scores of a tool for measuring the sociality development in each group. The results of this study were as follows. First, The group theraplay program has had a positive effect on the sociality development of withdrawal children. Second, The group theraplay program has had positive effects on cooperation, others understanding, autonomy, and peer interaction improvement which are sub-factors of the sociality development of withdrawal children.

The aim of this study was to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Korean Tayside Children's Sleep Questionnaire (K-TCSQ) for preschoolers. 203 parents of preschoolers aged 1.5-5 years old were surveyed, and the collected data were analyzed using SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 20. The results of this study were summarized as follows: First, exploratory factor analysis showed a 6-item 2-factor model(Initiating sleep(3 item) and Maintaining sleep(3 item)), confirmatory factor analysis was moderate. Second, correlation analysis showed that K-TCSQ's total score and 2 factor scores were positively related to K-CBCL's sleep problem, internal behavior problem, external behavior problem, and parenting stress. Third, internal consistencies of the K-TCSQ were acceptable. The significance of this study is that K-TCSQ was validated in Korean preschoolers, and it is expected that K-TCSQ can be used as an indicator of preemptive intervention by measuring sleep problems in preschoolers.
