Purpose: The purpose of this study is to support SMEs' introduction of smart factories during the 4th Industrial Revolution era. Through this study, we developed the readiness assessment framework for SMEs. This study draws practical implications for improving the readiness of SMEs to introduce smart factories.
Methods: Readiness Assessment Framework Design method, Case Studies Analysis
Results: This study identified SMEs suitable for smart factories and identified key issues for nonconforming companies. And the diagnostic framework has been determined whether it works in a real-life SME environment.
Conclusion: In order to succeed in the smart factory deployment, readiness assessment for SMEs should be performed as necessary. Prior to the introduction of smart factories, quality innovation activities should be carried out according to factory level.

Purpose: CMMI is a process model used to assess or improve an organization's software development capabilities. This paper deals with the quality indicators when using CMMI and their priorities for possible improvement.
Methods: The 22 process areas and 167 practices of CMMI are matched with 60 indicators of Quality Scorecard(QSC) first to analyze the balance of CMMI in terms of prevention, appraisal, and final result categories and second to isolate a set of key areas for quality focused performance measures.
Results: A total of 86.2% (144 out of 167) CMMI practices were mapped to QSC. According to the CMMI level of maturity, level 2 and 3 accounted for more than 75% of the total. The practices at the maturity level of 4 and 5 were mapped to more than 52% of the final result's measurements. It has been observed that CMMI practices need further elaboration at higher levels to consider prevention, appraisal, and final results simultaneously.
Conclusion: In order to improve the quality performance of the organization by applying CMMI, the final result measures should be refined in metrics, cycles, and methods, and then corrective actions could be conducted to improve the performance of CMMI practices. This strategy would help the practitioners benefit from CMMI in fostering the overall quality level of key activities for the organization's business goals.

Purpose: This study proposed a DEA (Data Envelopment Analysis)-based stepwise benchmarking target selection for inefficient DMU (Decision Making Unit) to improve its efficiency gradually to reach most efficient frontier considering resource (DEA inputs and outputs) improvement preferences.
Methods: The proposed method proceeded in two steps. First step evaluates efficiency of DMUs by using DEA, and an evaluated DMU selects benchmarking targets of HCU (Hypothesis Composit Unit) or RU (Real Unit) considering resource improvement preferences. Second step selects stepwise benchmarking targets of the inefficient DMU. To achieve this, this study developed a new DEA model, which can select a benchmarking target of an inefficient DMU in considering inputs or outputs improvement preference, and suggested an algorithm, which can select stepwise benchmarking targets of the inefficient DMU.
Results: The proposed method was applied to 34 international ports for validation. In efficiency evaluation, five ports was evaluated as most efficient port, and the remaining 29 ports was evaluated as relative inefficient port. When port 34 was supposed as evaluated DMU, its can select its four stepwise benchmarking targets in assigning the preference weight to inputs (berth length, total area of pier, CFS, number of loading machine) as (0.82, 1.00, 0.41, 0.00).
Conclusion: For the validation of the proposed method, it applied to the 34 major ports around the world and selected stepwise benchmarking targets for an inefficient port to improve its efficiency gradually. We can say that the proposed method enables for inefficient DMU to establish more effective and practical benchmarking strategy than the conventional DEA because it considers the resource (inputs or outputs) improvement preference in selecting benchmarking targets gradually.

4서울시 초미세먼지(PM2.5) 지역별 극단치 분석

Purpose: This paper aims to investigate the concentration of fine particulate matter (PM2.5) in the Seoul area by predicting unhealthy days due to PM2.5 and comparing the regional differences.
Methods: The extreme value theory is adopted to model and compare the PM2.5 concentration in each region, and each best model is selected through the goodness of fitness test. The maximum likelihood estimation technique is applied to estimate the parameters of each distribution, and the fitness of each model is measured by the mean absolute deviation. The selected model is used to estimate the number of unhealthy days (above 75㎍/㎥ PM2.5 concentrations) in each region, with which the actual number of unhealthy days are compared. In addition, the level of PM2.5 concentration in each region is analyzed by calculating the return levels for periods of 6 months, 1 year, 3 years, and 5 years.
Results: The Mapo (MP) area revealed the most unhealthy days, followed by Gwanak (GW) and Yangcheon (YC). On the contrary, the number of unhealthy days was low in Seodaemun (SDM), Songpa (SP) and Gangbuk (GB) areas. The return level of PM2.5 was high in Gangnam (GN), Dongjak (DJ) and YC. It will be necessary to prepare for PM2.5 than other regions. On the contrary, Gangbuk (GB), Nowon (NW) and Seodaemun (SDM) showed relatively low return levels for PM2.5. However, in most of the regions of Seoul, PM25 is generated at a very poor level (75㎍/㎥) every 6months period, and more than 100㎍/㎥ PM2.5 occur every 3 years period. Most areas in Seoul require more systematic management of PM2.5.
Conclusion: In this paper, accurate prediction and analysis of high concentration of PM2.5 were attempted. The results of this research could provide the basis for the Seoul Metropolitan Government to establish policies for reducing PM2.5 and measuring its effects.

Purpose: Despite the fact that the majority of domestic firms are small in size, there have been few studies conducted to understand the leadership effectiveness of small firm CEOs. Based on the upper echelon theory, this study attempts to demonstrate empirically that transformational leadership of small firm CEOs can increase the innovative behavior of employees. In addition, the present study examines mediating effects of CEO trust perceived by employees when transformational leadership affects employees' innovative behavior.
Methods: The survey data of CEOs' transformational leadership, innovative behavior of employees, and perceived CEO trust were collected from 176 employees working in domestic small firms. Hierarchical regression analyses were performed to examine the main effects between transformation leadership and innovative behavior and mediating effects of CEO trust perceived by employees.
Results: The results show that CEOs' transformational leadership is significantly related to the innovative behavior of employees in the current sample. Results also indicate that CEO trust perceived by employees reveals a mediating effect in the process of transformational leadership affecting innovative behavior.
Conclusion: The results show that as suggested by the upper echelon theory, the leadership of small firm CEOs can have a significant impact on positive job-related behaviors and attitudes of employees. The results also contribute to expand on the understanding of the relationship between transformational leadership and innovative behavior by explaining that transformational leadership can mediate trust in CEOs in enhancing employees' innovative behavior. Theoretical and practical implications are reviewed, and limitations of the study and suggestions for future research are addressed.

Purpose: It is essential for the steel industry to produce steel products without unexpected downtime to reduce costs and produce high quality products. A hot strip rolling mill consists of many mechanical and electrical units. In condition monitoring and diagnosis, various units could fail for unknown reasons.
Methods: In this study, we propose an effective method to detect units with abnormal status early to minimize system downtime. The early warning problem with various units was first defined. An autoencoder was modeled to detect abnormal states. An application of the proposed method was also implemented in a simulated field-data analysis.
Results: We can compare images of original data and reconstructed images, as well as visually identify differences between original and reconstruction images. We confirmed that normal and abnormal states can be distinguished by reconstruction error of autoencoder. Experimental results show the possibility of prediction due to the increase of reconstruction error from just before equipment failure.
Conclusion: In this paper, hot strip roughing mill monitoring method using autoencoder is proposed and experiments are performed to study the benefit of the autoencoder.

Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to determine an optimal production time for economic production quantity model with preventive maintenance and random defective rate as the function of a machinery deteriorates.
Methods: If a machinery shifts from “in-control” state to “out-of-control” state, a proportion of defective items being produced increases. It is assumed that time to state shift is a random variable and follows an arbitrary distribution. The elapsed time until process shift decreases stochastically as a production cycle repeats and quasi-renewal process is used to implement for production facilities to deteriorate.
Results: When the exponential parameter for exponential distribution increases, the optimal production time increases. When Weibull distribution is considered, the optimal production time is closely affected by the shape parameter of Weibull distribution.
Conclusion: A mathematical model is suggested to find optimal production time and optimal number of production cycles and numerical examples are implemented to validate the patterns for changes of optimal times under different parameters assumptions. The real application is implemented using the proposed approach.

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to propose a new Risk Priority Number(RPN) evaluation method which analyzes value of product functions by mining customer opinions in Social Network Service(SNS).
Methods: A traditional RPN is measured by three evaluation standards (Severity, Occurrence, Detection) which are analyzed by manufacturing engineers and researchers. On the other hand, these standards are analyzed by customers' viewpoints through SNS opinion mining in this research. In order to extract customer feedbacks from textual data sets, the methodology in this paper implies natural language processing, hereby collecting product related data sets and analyzing the opinions automatically. An emotional polarity of an opinion indicates severity, while the number of negative opinion shows occurrence, and the entire number of customer opinion refers to detection.
Results: The results of this study are as follows; As a result of the CRPN evaluation, it is confirmed that the features evaluated as risky are highly likely to be improved in the next series. Therefore, CRPN is an effective risk assessment model that reflects customer feedback.
Conclusion: Reflecting customer feedback is a useful tool for risk assessment of the product as well as for developing new products and improving existing products.

Purpose: The purpose of study is to understand the effect of Airline industry employee's workaholism on Work Family conflict and Satisfaction of Life.
Methods: The research method of this paper is to analyze data which was collected from 328 female cabin crew at airline located in Jeju Air.
Results: The results of this study are summarized be summarized as follows: First, Work Obsession as the subordinate variables of workaholism positively affect Work Family conflict, but Work Enjoyment and Commitment of Work negatively affect work family conflict. Second, The results showed that had the higher level of Work to Family conflict than that of Family to Work conflict. Both directions had a negative impact on life satisfaction.
Conclusion: Work Enjoyment and Work Commitment of variable workaholic had the higher level of Work to Family conflict than that of Family to Work conflict. So, it is important to make efforts to promote Work Enjoyment and Work Commitment of workaholic with resolving Work Family conflict in married managerial women by families and corporations.

Purpose: The present research was designed to explore a causal relationship among SNS prosumer characteristics, relationship quality, user satisfaction, and loyalty intention, and we intended to explore mediating role of relationship quality in the causal relationship.
Methods: As survey tool, questionnaire that had obtained validity and reliability through literature survey and pretest survey, and sample 214 was analyzed using SEM analysis method.
Results: All theoretical relationships, except the relationship between information provision and relational quality, proved to be significant. The relationship quality plays an important intermediary role in the research model.
Conclusion: The characteristics of SNS prosumer activity can be summarized by interaction and informational provision. To increase user satisfaction and loyalty, it is necessary to support these characteristics and strengthen relationships with customers.
