This paper aims to examine the Bird totem of Han Saogong novels. To achieve this end, it has found the origin of totem from the relics related to birds of Neolithic culture in the Changjiang basin of China, which were excavated so far. Han Saogong suggests the differences between Northern and Southern cultures as dragons and phoenixes, respectively, saying that these cultures have developed into independent forms. This bird totem he depicted in the novels is now the folklore of people in the Sangcho(湘楚) area of the Hulan(湖南) provinces, whose roots date back to the ancient Neolithic Age. However, this folklore is also the result of the exchange and fusion of external and regional cultures. This is an example of the nature of culture, which shows that some parts of culture change easily, but sometimes its roots are kept strong and do not change easily. The bird totem in the Han Saogong novels is an example of a heritage that still retains its uniqueness in the course of constant transformation in the development of culture. He wanted to find the characteristics of this culture in unchanging uniqueness.

This article has been written with the aim to analyze the post-modernity of two Chang-geuk that were recently performed by Namwon National Gugak Center. The results of the analysis are as follows.
1. “Na woon-gyu, arirang(2016.9)” choose the 'play in the play' technique as basic axis of plot. But it delays narrative through the way of frequent crossing between 'inner-play' and 'outer-play', and at the end of drama, it breaks the border of inner-outer plays.
2. “Chun hyang sillok(2016.9)” receive some methods of post-modern cinema, to break linear narrative. And, it choose the strategy of time-space transition through enumeration and juxtaposition of scattered visual and audible images.
3. Both texts try to exaggerate feelings of scenes through newly created 'Nundaemok' Pansori. Sometimes this technique is successful, especially in “self-reflexive” situations.
4. At the same time, both texts retain the conventions of the traditional Chang-geuk, such as splendid and extravagant ending with excessive exposure of main theme, and reuse of non-realistic character such as ghosts in old texts.
It looks as “homage”or “cliche”that maintain the conventions of the traditional Chang-geuk, and it can be regarded as the paradoxical limits of parodic works.

Korean Independent documentary has the tradition of the activism that reveal the dark side of the modernization and reform the society. But the social change of the new media environment require the change of independent documentary. The change of independent documentary reflects the characteristics of post cinema. The performative narrative based on the reflective retrospection of the author, the free form that enables to express the retrospection and the new historicity are these characteristics. Two documentaries that < 2 Doors > and < The Remnants > that devoted to Yongsan Disarster show this change of Korean independent documentary. These two documentaries follow the tradition of the activism and show the characteristics of post cinema at the same time. < 2 Doors > compiles the found footage and make it the court of history. < The Remnants > follows the daily life of the victims and records their memories. Doing this, < the Remnants > can obtain the new historicity. These two documentaries shows the evolution of Korean independent documentary figuratively.

4완주 경천저수지 축조와 수몰민의 유리(流離) ― 구술을 중심으로 ―

Gyeongcheon Reservoir was constructed in Wanju-gun, Jeollabuk-do in 1935. It was an irrigation project for the management of large-scale farms of the Japanese landowners at the middle and lower reaches of the Mangyeong-gang (river) during the Japanese ruling era. The main body of the project was irrigation associations, and there had five associations been organized one after another in that area since 1905. Gyeongcheon Reservoir was constructed by Imik Irrigation Association (the leader was Hujiee Kantaro). The association proceeded two projects at the same time. They aimed to restore Hwangdeungje (called the Yogyo Lake) into farm land while pushing forward the Gyeongcheon Reservoir project.
Due to the project, there were about 300 households that had to leave their home places, half of whom were tenants who didn't have their own land. Therefore, they were not compensated, but they just received small money for houses and removal. Thus, tenants strongly refused and resisted to removal. The Imik Irrigation Association conciliated them promising to give land when the Hwangdeungje would be restored to land.
The residents of Gyeongcheon moved collectively to Hwangdeungje area believing the promise. The new village they moved into was called an 'immigration camp' by their neighbors. However, contrary to the promise, Hwangdeungje hadn't been restored when they moved into that area. When the immigrants insisted the association keep the promise, it began the restoration forcing their free labor. It happened because the starting time of constructing Gyeongcheon Reservoir and restoring Hwangdeungje didn't meet. Thus, the lives of the immigrants was so miserable for four years. In addition, the association broke the promise of giving substitute land saying “We haven't promised to provide farm land”.
This paper studies their involuntary removal and disastrous conditions during the settlement. For the study, oral statements were collected from the first and second generations of the immigrants, and their statements were contrasted with the contents of the articles of the contemporary papers.
This study is meaningful in that it is the first study that researches the process and present conditions of the immigrants of modern irrigation projects around the Mangyeong-gang area during the Japanese ruling period.

1. Analysing the re-mediations of media, this paper shows that these re-mediations are connected to the moral reconstructions. Moral reconstructions mean the remaking morals.
2. According to Dewey, morals mean customs, folkways, established collective habits, so they have to be different one another. Especially morals have to be changed in time and space, and in this changing process moral reconstruction is to be in the making.
3. The current fashion of films tend to take advantage of the re-mediations which mean the remaking of old stories and old films. These current re-mediations, for example,'Aladdin' that is live action film issued in 2019, mostly begin with moral reconstructions.
4. In the process re-mediations, we can have the new visions of the world. This new visions can't be possible, without moral reconstructions.
5. Consequently re-mediations mean moral reconstructions. In the process of re-mediations, moral reconstructions as dramatic rehearsal which mean the new habit of thought, are proceeding.

The objective of this thesis is to understand the process in which the Muslims of Myanmar regard themselves as indigenous people, and also to review what efforts they put to form their indigenousness in the mainstream society. Today, the viewpoint defining the Muslims in Myanmar as foreigners is rampant. In reality, however, the formation of Muslim society in Myanmar has a long history. Within the Myanmar society, the large-scale Muslim community has been formed since the 15th century, which becomes the main grounds for the current Muslims' assertion of their indigenousness. Based on this historicality, today, the Muslims of Myanmar are naturally cognizing themselves as indigenous people.
A census taken by the British colonial government classified the vast majority of Rakhine Muslims as Indians, which did not reflect the actual ethnic identity. Raising a complaint about this, today, the Muslims of Myanmar are devoting their efforts to reproduce and also to spread the identity as indigenous people of Myanmar and citizens of Myanmar. By reconfirming the peaceful history of coexistence between Islam and Buddhism in the traditional era through the compilation of history books and textbooks, and also refusing the subdivision of category of Muslims of Myanmar, they are emphasizing the integration through the ethnic elements, instead of religious elements. The basic principle of the IRAC specifies the members of this organization as 'indigenous citizens believing in Islam', and also shows their strong desire for the acquisition of citizenship and being recognized as indigenous people. The MMNAO also emphasizes not only the purpose of fulfilling both religious activities and non-reli gious activities, but also the patriotism and citizenship of Muslims of Myanmar and the harmony between Myanmar ethnic groups and religions. Both organizations share the same goal of establishing the fellowship with non-Muslim citizens and also developing the consciousness to become citizens in Myanmar.

This paper deals with the relationship between syntactic structure and semantic interpretation. Since the so-called Aspects model (or Standard Theory Model), there has been some changes in the ideas of the semantic interpretation of a sentence; in the Aspect model there is only one chance for the semantic interpretation. But for the Minimalism model of interpretation, Gallego(2010) suggests each Phase can enter the interpretation component any time.
With the examples of English and Korean reflexive pronouns, and the English transparent free relatives, I have argued that a monolithic one-way entrance of a sentence into the semantic interpretation has problems. Thus I propose that pragmatic information can get into the semantic component freely, equally, and frequently, and the combined semantic information can go back to the syntactic structure and get into the semantic component again.

The magnitude of the Pohang earthquake that happened in 2017 is not comparable to earthquakes in other stricken areas (say, ring of fire). However, it was unprecedented at least within the Korean peninsula. This study explores how social relations and people's lives have changed since the earthquake. For interviews, we contacted people through the Pohang disaster psychology support program as well as the emergency action committee of H apartment complex. Semi-structured interviews were conducted on about 20 interviewees.
In terms of physical aspects, i.e. casualties and restoration expenditure, the Pohang earthquake was a small-scale earthquake. However, the social recovery process concerning refugee camps, the reconstruction of homes and treating trauma have not been resolved yet. We have witnessed similar social phenomenon in previous disaster anthropology studies including dichotomous conflicts between 'us' and 'them' (especially, victims versus public institution) and changes in social relations after public compensations have been rewarded. That this social conflict is still pervasive means that the social repercussions of the Pohang earthquake are still ongoing.

The purpose of this article is to examine the bourgeois motifs in Luis Bunuel's Le charme discret de la bourgeoisie (1972). Since, in this film showing the rejection of bourgeois culture like in his first two films Un chien andalou (1929) and L'âge d'or (1930), the image of bourgeois is hypocritical, a fetishist, lacking in generosity or love, greedy, self-satisfied, the director's bourgeois motif is not different from that of the 19th-century and contemporary bourgeois haters. But the way he attacks the bourgeois through dream and impulse-castration motifs, as in his first two films, shows a clear difference from the other haters. In particular, the suppers that six bourgeois try to have ten times and their delays or failures are new ways of expressing impulse and castration in that food symbolizes sex. He frequently repeats the bourgeois motif in this way because dreams make it easier to achieve his purpose of constantly destroying the bourgeois order as an artist faithful to surrealism, allowing us to look into the unconscious of human beings and reveal the bourgeoisie's hypocrisy.

Ju(周) meaned etymologically the fence which was surrounded by the barrier because it was structured by the connected steep summits and rough valleys. The original meaning of a Ju(州) was the small island which was surrounded by a river water. The original sound of Ju(周) was /dyu/ and yu(留) was /lyu/. Therefore in the Old Korean Ju Ryu(周留) would be pronounced as /dyulyu/ and which has formed the stem of the verb stem 'dureu-'(두르-). As a result the meaning of Ju Ryu Seong(周留城) designated in general all the invincible castles. At this castle in Puan, we could find a magnificent rock Ul Geum Pa U(울금바우) called by the inhibitants.
