The purpose of this paper is to reveal why synonymy blocking is not applied to some denominal verbs such as brush and comb by analyzing the meanings of noun-to-verb conversion pairs. In this respect, this paper deals with two issues: conversion, one of the economical and productive word-formation rules for the creation of new words and synonymous blocking, restraint on generating redundant words. Blocking occurs when an existing word can only block a newly derived one if they are completely synonymous. Classical examples for blocking are the blocking of *stealer because of existence of thief. There are, however, some cases where blocking does not occur in noun-to-verb conversion pairs. Although a word sweep is a well-established word in the lexicon, a verb broom is derived from its parent noun form through conversion. Likewise, converted verbs brush and comb appearing to be synonymous do not block each other in the process of derivation. In this sense, it is necessary to analyze the meanings of noun-to-verb conversion pairs in order to reveal the reason that synonymy blocking is overridden in denominal verbs. As an attempt to identify complete synonymy between existing words and derived words, this paper looks into three respects: how to capture conceptual contiguity between parent nouns and its derived verbs, how to understand the conceptual difference between existing verbs and denominal verbs, and why conversion pairs like brush and comb appear to be synonymous.

Rapid change of the modern society urges general education to be transformed worldwide, with the emphasis of competency-based education and interdisciplinary skills. In Korea, general education reform at the universities has been given much attention since the 2000s, resulting in the revision of general education objectives and curriculum, and a lot of new programs. However, the reflection on those changes and its effects gave rise to concern for general education assessment, asking what influences they have brought on student experiences and learning outcomes. To answer this question, assessment model development is required that suggests different levels, dimensions, methods, or guidelines to consider for systematic and holistic general education assessment. In this respect, this study aims at developing a model for general education assessment and providing an example of its application. The results suggest that the generic model include the categories or areas of general education curriculum, the levels of assessment, and the stages of curriculum development, implementation, and assessment. Based on this, each university could develop its own model and plan for general education assessment, taking its mission, priorities, and conditions into consideration. The results from each categories, levels, and stages of assessment need to be connected and integrated to derive meaningful implications and recommendations for modifications in general education.

This study discussed a reflective reconsideration on liberal education in universities, and asserted that liberal education should be approached from a new perspective and conceptual awareness. The results of discussion are as follows; First, the perspective on liberal education needs to be changed. The researcher adheres to the fundamental perspective based on 'inquiry of educational validity', 'fundamental perspective based on the nature of university', 'liberal education as the effects of higher education' perspective, and 'liberal education as cultivating intelligent person education.' These perspectives derived from the reflection of reality, where liberal education focuses on practicalities regardless of the proper function of university education. Second, the inquiry of educational validity mentioned before refers to the way of asking whether the education is educationally valid first, rather than what is refinement or liberal education. Also, the 'liberal education as the effects of higher education' perspective refers to the way that asks 'what needs to be taught to be refinement and liberal education'. The liberal education as cultivating intelligent person education' is not to cultivate talents but intelligent persons. Third, liberal education began upon categorical request in education, and basis of human cultures. Liberal education is developing creativity into liberal ability, and building cultural power, which is the basis of human life. Liberal education should premise educational relationship between teacher-student, and deal with problems of life as the curriculum. Fourth, purpose of liberal education pursues cultivation of 'educated person', formation of adventurous self, and transformation of way of life. Major variables that decide effects of higher education is 'liberal education system'. Professor's the reflection that design liberal education and the firm passion that makes an issue of humanism works as the 'system'.

This paper proposed a unification education methodology that incorporates logical writing activity as a way for young people to materialize and actively think about unification consciousness. In order to enable young people to express their thoughts and feelings from their own life problems, it is necessary to focus on “people” in the structure of division. Unification of the humanities poses a crucial point for thinking about the problem of division and unification as a problem of human life, and it shows that it is possible for a specific reason to begin writing in the process of worrying about it. In the real unified education case, young people experienced this process and discussed that they could accomplish the writing work smoothly by establishing a topic that is close to their own life problem or emotional empathy. And the effectiveness of this education is proved by the result of the unification consciousness survey. Writing activities on unification humanities subject became experience activities to diagnose the specific cause in unification task and to enhance problem solving ability. The task of constructing the logic of the writing based on the research topic and related information came as a problem solving process for the youth. It also has an important meaning in that it has a lot of time for debate and juggling while directly conducting research activities with young people. The vast amount of data left in this process is due to the unity of youth uncovered in the survey method. Once detailed youth unification consciousness data are obtained, it is possible to conceive a plan for unification education.

This paper explored where Chinese minority people is and what path Chinese minority people choose under the expansion of urbanization in China. Since the founding of China, The national goal of China government is building a 'one China'. In particular, I note that voluntary sinicization(漢化) in this paper. To this end, this paper first examine Ethnic Minorities unification policies of China and the change of Ethnic Minorities minority policy, especially in detail through urbanization and sinicization of YiZu living in ShiLinand. And lastly I contemplated the meaning of urbanization in the future of Ethnic Minorities. The voluntary Change through urbanization in Shilin YiZu zizhixian, yunnansheng(石林彝族自治縣) have many layers. Shilin was renamed in 1998 following the big tourist attraction. Shilin is in capital Kunming unlike other autonomous prefecture and Shilin have excellent transportation facilities. Shilin have a large tourist destination so there are many inflow of external people and civilization and the service industry is relatively developed. Shilin directly receive the impact of urbanization. Therefore unlike other 14 YiZu autonomous prefecture finance of Shilin is excellent. This environment reduces the percentage of Ethnic Minorities through inducing the influx of external population, and it led to the movement of people in a large city. And these changes induced and natural dismantling of national ethnic cultures and voluntary sinicization. The urbanization is naturally accompanied by the development of information and communication so cultural openness and unity is increased and common values are spreaded and shared in a variety of culture information. The urbanization make Ethnic minority will put the traditional lifestyle of the past to the back and will be indulging changes in the contemporary and future. A lot of people and the Han Chinese flows into city and an individual ethnic tradition will be located in breakdown environments. From the perspective of minorities urbanization is a hot potato. But in the process of urbanization protecting the existence and identity of Ethnic minorities will be required to be cared for in perception and consideration of themselves.
