1'인가'의 문법 범주에 대하여

This study attempted to confirm the grammatical category of '(이)ㄴ가' in '어디에선가'(somewhere) or '누군가'(someone). It is critically reviewed the grammar category description of '이-' in previous studies and dictionaries. Through reviewing various examples of the form of '(이)ㄴ가', it is turned out that '(이)ㄴ가' is a complex form of '(이)+ㄴ가' and '(이)ㄴ가' as a grammaticalized postposition. This proved that '(이)ㄴ가', which belongs to the postpostion category, is a distinct category from the combination of the ending '-ㄴ 가' or the combination of adjective '(이)-' and the ending '-가'. This article seeks to apply a case study to figure out how the bilinguals engage in their academic writing process. And I will call the practice that bilingual speakers try to make out his/her text by the term of “translanguaging”. In this study, I triangulated my data source by conducting semi-structured interviews, collecting my co-researchers' process log and their writing materials. The finding of the study is that, when bilinguals try to make some writing practice, four factors that make influence on their linguistic repertoires: the native tongue/culture experience, the identity, the linguistic ideology, and the interaction with the Community of Participation(COP). To make further meaning of this article, I also try to make some pedagogical implications for Korean writing education. (Korea University)

This paper aims to analyses the patterns of predicates' irregular errors of Korean beginning learner's Korean Learner's Corpus which is constructed by the National Institute of Korean Language by vocabulary and irregularity. In many universities textbooks, irregular predicates use is based on the subject and suggested of relevant vocabulary, which is different from the frequency of irregular predicates use and error of the Korean beginning learners. When constructing a textbook, it is very essential to consider about necessary grammatical items and vocabulary that would be helpful to learn Korean language, as well as the difficulties of learners' use and acquisition. Particularly, error type such as 'ㅂ'-irregular predicates and 'ㄹ'-elision predicates are most diverse in terms of irregularity errors patterns. In addition, other irregular errors were decrease or similar in level 2 compared to level 1, but in case of '르'-irregular predicates and 'ㄹ'-elision predicates, it increased in level 2 compared to level 1. In spite of the high frequency of use, Korean beginning learner are not only confused by this rule, but also due to the difficulty of 'ㄹ' pronouncing. (Kyung Hee University)

The purpose of this study is to find a way to select the subjects of Korean language teaching materials considering proficiency. To this end, the subject area of the Korean language unit was compared with the Internationally Circulated Standard Korean Language Curriculum(ICSKLC). There are topics that should be more essential and prioritized for learners of a particular level of proficiency. When selecting subjects according to the proficiency of Korean learners, reference should be made to certified materials, as should the list of ICSKLC. In addition, when there is a problem or omission by comparing ICSKLC with teaching materials, they should be checked and supplemented with each other. This study compared Korean language textbooks with ICSKLC to see if the list of topics is appropriate. The results are as follows. First, many of the subjects in the Korean language textbook were not on the subject of ICSKLC. Instead, those that correspond to functional, cultural, and textual areas were chosen as the subject of the unit. Second, there was a lack of similarity of subject between Korean textbooks of the same level. This makes it possible for learners of the same level to learn different subjects. Third, missing from the list of topics in ICSKLC were included in the textbook. This is related to the fact that the textbooks that were referred to in the construction of ICSKLC are not the latest ones. In order to correct topics that do not fit between ICSKLC and Korean language textbooks, this study makes some suggestions. First, the subject of the unit should be appropriate to the concept of the 'topic' rather than to conform to the functional, cultural and textual characteristics. Second, topics that best suit learners' proficiency should be selected. Third, it is necessary to supplement the list of topics for ICSKLC by analyzing the latest Korean language textbooks. 56-9세 아동의 연령, 지능, 어휘수준, 성별, 그리고 언어문화 차이에 따른 화용언어능력 비교

In this study, we first analyzed the differences in pragmatic language skills of children aged 6 to 9 years according to their intelligence, language level, and gender, and then looked at differences in pragmatic language skills by linguistic culture family type (multiculturalized children and general household children). Participants of the present study consisted of a total of 41 children aged 6 to 9 years old, with 30 children (male=15, female=15) and 11 children from multicultural families (male=9, female=2). Children were tested for intelligence, vocabulary, and language checklist for children. The correlation and Pearson's correlation, and independent sample t-test was conducted for differences in pragmatic language abilities of children in general households according to gender. And the difference in scores by child's pragmatic language checklist (CPLC) sub-domain of children of general households and multicultural families who matched their age and sex was examined through the Mann-Whitney U-test Intelligence and expressive language skills were found to be related to discourse management, communication intent and non-verbal communication excluding ability to control and apply according to the situation. Second, it showed that girls had a higher overall pragmatic language score than boys except the areas of discourse management. Third, the scores of children from single culture (N=11) and children from multicultural families (N=11) who matched gender to chronological age and language age did not differ according to the domestic language and culture environmental group. The results of the above study showed that although pragmatic language skills vary depending on gender, they are not significantly problematic due to linguistic and cultural factors. This paper is part of the discussion to set the standard of what well-constructed multiple choice answers should be for main idea questions in reading tests of the Korean Language. In particular, it is to examine how text type as a variable is related to finding the main idea. To do this, we reviewed the results of previous studies that dealt with the correlation between text type and main idea, and presented major research problems based on them. In addition, the major research issues were applied and analyzed for texts and answers of the questions presented in reading section on TOPIK(Test of Proficiency in Korean).
As a result of the above research, the following could be suggested primarily. Brinker(1985) divided the main types of informative text into three categories: descriptive, explanatory, and demonstrative text. However, while the rheme of descriptive texts usually expand, the rheme of explanatory or demonstrative texts often converge into a single argument. According to this, it is natural to represent the main idea of a descriptive text in the form of a noun phrase, whereas it is natural to represent the main idea of explanatory or demonstrative text in the form of a sentence. It is suggested that constructing multiple choice answers based on this principle will help to build a valid question. (Soongsil University)

The study conducted a demand analysis for manufacturing workers in Vietnam with the aim of producing specialized business textbooks for employees of Korean manufacturers in Vietnam. First, we examined the status of vocational Korean education and prior research related to the development of business Korean textbooks in Vietnam, and analyzed the teaching subjects and vocabulary of existing business Korean textbooks. Based on this, the school was required to compile the syllabus to be presented in the business Korean language textbook for Vietnamese working in the manufacturing sector in Vietnam. In addition, the Commission conducted a survey of Korean and Vietnamese employees engaged in electronic related businesses in Vietnam on the requirements of teaching subjects. As a result, the Korean vocabulary and cultural areas required by Korean and Vietnamese employees differed. Considering these differences, textbooks will have to be produced. (Kyung Hee University)

This study examines the recognition of government networks based on Language Management Theory, who were involved to draft the 1948's Hangeul(Korean alphabet) only usage law which have been starting point for the controversial issues related to Hangeul only usage and Chinese character mixed usage in modern Korean society.
Language Management Theory assumes that the speaker often notes the discourse as such the moment it deviates from a norm or expectation. The speaker may evaluate the deviation (or other noted linguistic phenomenon) positively, negatively or in a neutral way. It is the goal of Language Management Theory to theoretically grasp this internally diverse type of human activity in a coherent way. Based on the theoretical background, this paper complies and derive characteristics of the central government's language policy regarding Hangeul only usage and Chinese character mixed usage from 1948 to the current Korean language policy. It clarified lack of a view about usage of language users in their daily life through the analysis on the recognition of government networks and it aims to suggest the future direction of microscopic approach in language policy research, specially about usages of Hangeul and Chinese character. The purpose of this study is to analyze the introductions in Korean Linguistic theses written by foreign graduate students based on Genre analysis, and to find out how it differs from same section written by Koreans. For the analysis, based on the 'KL-CaRS Model' in Jun & Chung(2018), we searched for the features appearing in Korean Linguistic thesis introduction and the difference between Koreans and foreigners. As a result, the composition of the 'move' was same, but it is more simple than korean's. Also there is some difference in formulaic expression, composition of move 2. Length and average number of move-step are also different in doctor degree thesis, and there are few steps which can't be explained by KL-CaRS. The features and problems of move-step are as follows. There are no 'research necessity' and 'value' step, and there are only references to 'research', or only meaningless criticism. also, sometimes name of the section is different from what was actually written. The content to be included in body section or conclusion section appears in the introduction, and lastly, the sentence was too long. This research will be helpful for foreigners who want to write a paper in the field of Korean Linguistics in the future. (Ewha Womans University)

The present study investigates the cognate effects in Sino-Korean Vocabulary and Chinese vocabulary. Research participants are Korean high school students in China who speak Korean, Chinese and English. Research was done to identify lexical similarity between the two languages by studying the correlation between identically-shaped Sino-Korean and Chinese vocabulary and differently-shaped Sino-Korean and Chinese vocabulary. More studies were done to see whether true cognates, partial cognates, and false cognates between Sino-Korean and Chinese vocabulary affect the vocabulary breadth test scores. As a result, the scores significantly elevated in the test of written Chinese character, and similarity in Chinese form between two languages helped to comprehend the meaning of the words. Besides, it turned out that more similarity they have, the better the subjects were at grasping the primary meaning of the word. And no cognates effect in false cognate items. There are barely any studies conducted on Korean ability of Korean high school students living in China, with a significant number of Korean students residing in China and most of them entering Korean universities after graduation. The hope for this study is that, as a primary study of Korean students residing in China, it will serve as a basis for further discussions in the future. (Ewha Womans University)
