1배초향 추출물의 생리활성 효과

This study was conducted to gather the useful data on the effective utilization of Baechohyang extract (Agastache rugosa). We have also examined into the physiological activity of Baechohyang. Total phenolic compound contents in 1,000 mg·L-1 Agastache rugosa hot water extract were 51.4-80.5 mg·L-1, and those ethanol extract were 62.1-97.2 mg·L-1. In the concentration of 1,000 mg·L-1 extracting solution, total flavonoid contents in flower hot water extract increased most by 99.3 mg·L-1. DPPH radical scavenging activity, RC50 values of leaves hot water extract decreased most by 107.5 mg·L-1, however, that of flower ethanol extract increased highest by 549.0 mg·L-1. In the concentration of 1,000 mg·L-1 extracting solution, nitrite radical scavenging activity of Baechohyang leaves hot water extract were 86.0%, and flower hot water and flower ethanol extract were 84.5% and 64.3%.

This study was conducted to develop the marketing technique of Baechohyang (Agastache rugosa) for the urban agriculture and the horticultural therapy program. We have also examined into the growth response of A. rugosa such as the germinating characters and the growth characteristics by the mowing and the cold storage of seedlings. Plant height of A. rugosa, sown on April 5 were 14.3 cm on June 20, and 55.4 cm on July 18. And the number of leaves were 96.4 with the natural branching on July 18. However, The plant height of Baechohyang mown on June 20 decreased by 27.9 cm on July 18, and the number of leaves also decreased by 62.4. Therefore, it were not necessary to mow the Baechohyang for marketing. Plant height of biennials which were mown on June 6 and grown were 3.2 cm on June 17 and 31.6 cm on July 18. Baechohyang were marketable by the delivery service until 2 weeks after mowing. Biennial seedlings which were mown on June 6, stored at 4 ± 0.5℃ and planted on June 27 had been sprouted over 1.5 cm on July 3, which were at 6 days after planting, and 4.4 cm on July 7. Consequently, it was assumed that A. rugosa seedlings could be stored at 4 ± 0.5℃ for the marketing. And it was needed that Baechohyang seedlings which were mown after growing could be marketable for the urban agriculture and the horticultural therapy program.

This study was conducted to gain the basic data on the effective utilization of a perennial plant, Compositae, Korean aster (Aster scaber). We have also examined into the physiological activity of Korean aster extract, and its anti-cancer activity. Total phenolic compound contents in 1,000 mg·L-1 Korean aster extract by hot water were 66.1-106.4 mg·L-1, however, that by ethanol were 45.1-69.4 mg·L-1. Total flavonoid contents in 1,000 mg·L-1 Aster scaber flower hot water extract increased most by 113.8 mg·L-1. DPPH radical scavenging activity (%) in terms of RC50 values decreased extremely in the extract from Aster scaber flower with the hot water by 82.1 mg·L-1, however, that increased most in Korean aster leaves extract with the ethanol by 396.2 mg·L-1. Nitrite radical scavenging activity (% of control) of 1,000 mg/L Aster scaber leaves hot water and ethanol extract were 77.5% and 50.0%, however, those flower hot water and ethanol extract were 81.0% and 60.5%. In 400 mg·L-¹ methanol extract from Korean aster, there were anti-cancer activity, its hyperplasia inhibition activity against lung (Calu-6), colon (HCT-116) and breast cancer (MCF-7) cells were 90.7, 91.4 and 57.8%.

This study was conducted to develop the fresh-cut and the processed foods of pears. After treatment of 1% citric acid or 0.2 M N-acetylcysteine, and co-treatment of 1% citric acid and 0.2 M N-acetylcysteine into the pears ``Wonhwang``, the changes in the fruit quality of pears during the ambient storage (10℃) were examined. At 10 days after anti-browning agent treatment, pear quality, the taste of pears increased much more in that treated with anti-browning agents and stored in the ambient temperature by 3.8-4.2 than that in control by 3.5, compared with that in control before treatment by 5.0. Changes in Hunter b values and Brown potentials of the pears treated with 0.2 M N-acetylcysteine at 10 days after ambient storage were most lowest. And their amount of respiration decreased most by 0.95 mL/kg/hr, and the total phenolic compound content have had the same tendency as the respiration. At the application of 0.2 M N-acetylcysteine plus 1% citric acid solution, the taste of fruit and the fruit hardness increased most by 4.2 and 14.5 N at 10 days after storage in the ambient temperature, however, PPO activity and the amount of ethylene produced decreased most by 2.27 unit/min and 0.28 μL/kg/hr. Overall results indicated that the storage of the pear ``Wonhwang`` which were processed and fresh-cut increased significantly by the treatment of anti-browning agents, especially, the application of 0.2 M N-acetylcysteine solution and 0.2 M N-acetylcysteine 0.2 M + 1% citric acid solution.

This study was conducted to obtain the basic data on the development of cosmetic skin products with kiwifruits ``Jangbaeksan`` materials. We have examined the general compositions, the amino acids contents, the physiological activity and the hyperplasia inhibition activity against breast cancer cells. Glutamic acid (129.27 mg/100g) and the total sixteen component amino acids were separated, and the total component amino acids contents were 1,122.23 mg/100g. ammonia (9.93 mg/100g) and the total thirty three free amino acids were separated, and the total free amino acids contents were 71.87 mg/100g. In the extracting concentration of 1,000 mg·L-1, the total phenolic compound contents and the total flavonoid contents were 6.3-10.4 mg·L-1 and 0.8-5.2 mg·L-1. And the DPPH radical scavenging activity (% of the control) and the nitrite radical scavenging activity (% of the control) at 1,000 mg·L-1 were 15.5-40.8% and 59.3-79.8%. The ethanol extracts of kiwifruits had the hyperplasia inhibition activity against the breast cancer cells by 16.6% at 500 mg·L-1, 19.7% at 1,000 mg·L-1 and 49.3% at 2,000 mg·L-1.

We have examined the general compositions, the amino acids contents, the physiological activity and the hyperplasia inhibition activity against breast cancer cells. Glutamic acid (117.83 mg/100g) and the total sixteen component amino acids were separated, and the total component amino acids contents were 988.7 mg/100g. b-Aminoisobutyri acid (12.44 mg/100g) and the total thirty seven free amino acids were separated, and the total free amino acids contents were 98.66 mg/100g. In the extracting concentration of 1,000 mg·L-1, the total phenolic compound contents and the total flavonoid contents were 6.6-12.0 mg·L-1 and 1.9-4.0 mg·L-1. And the DPPH radical scavenging activity (% of the control) and the nitrite radical scavenging activity (% of the control) at 1,000 mg·L-1 were 15.1-33.0% and 58.9-79.7%. The ethanol extracts of kiwifruits had the hyperplasia inhibition activity against the breast cancer cells by 11.3% at 500 mg·L-1, 16.9% at 1,000 mg·L-1 and 38.6% at 2,000 mg·L-1.

This study was conducted to examine the effect of Polygonum tinctorium and Indigofera tinctoria fresh leaf juice on the dyeability of silk fabrics, rayon, cotton fabrics, sheep`s wool and acryl fabrics. Dyeing solution were made from 100 g fresh leaves, 200 mL distilled water, 70 g ice and potassium carbonate (0, 2, 4, 6 g). These materials were pulverized with the mixer, and dyed for 10 minutes. a* values were -5.36~-17.46 regardless of the kinds of dyes, textiles and the amount of potassium carbonate added. b* values were almost 5.37~31.48, except silk fabrics treated with Polygonum tinctorium juice and no addition of potassium carbonate by -12.06. b* values on the color coordinates were more moved to yellow color in the dyeing treatment with Indigofera tinctoria juice than that with Polygonum tinctorium irrespective of the kind of textiles. Color difference of silk fabrics increased when dyed with Polygonum tinctorium juice, however, that of rayon, cotton fabrics, sheep`s wool and acryl fabrics increased dyed with Indigofera tinctoria juice. Colors of silk fabrics and sheep`s wool dyed with Polygonum tinctorium juice and no addition of potassium carbonate were B levels, however, that with Indigofera tinctoria were almost GY levels, except that with Indigofera tinctoria and no addition of potassium carbonate were G levels. Consequently, it was confirmed that Indigofera tinctoria fresh leaf juice could be used adequately as the dyes for the silk fabrics, rayon, cotton fabrics, sheep`s wool and acryl fabrics, which was alike the Polygonum tinctorium fresh leaf juice.

To analyze how a Animal Assisted Activity Program (AAAP) affects recognition in children with autism, a study was performed with two children with autism in a Social Welfare Center in Iksan city, Korea. The AAAP was conducted once a week for a total of 12 sessions for 4 months. Pre- and post-test assessment of behavioral symptom and sociability was done. Data from 2 children who were not absent from the tests more than five times, and who performed every test item. As the results, we found the positive improvement effects on recognition in children with autism by AAAP.

Immunohistochemistry refers to the process of detecting antigens in cells of a tissue section by exploiting the principle of antibodies binding specifically to antigens in biological tissues. Immunohistochemical staining is widely used in the diagnosis of abnormal cells such as those found in cancerous tumors. Specific molecular markers are characteristic of particular cellular events such as proliferation or cell death (apoptosis). Immunohistochemistry is also widely used in basic research to understand the distribution and localization of biomarkers and differentially expressed proteins in different parts of a biological tissue. Antigen retrieval (AR) techniques were widely used to recover the antigenicity from the fixed tissues, which were guided by the philosophy of rendering immunohistochemistry applicable to routine formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissues for wide application of immunohistochemistry in research and clinical for morphology like as anatomy, histology and pathology. However, during the immunohistochemistry procedure, we noted lymphocyte-like cells-specific staining in the infiltrated cells into various organs like as liver and kidney, which was also shown in the immunohistochemistry tissues with isotype control. We found that protease antigen recovery may induce false-positive result during immunohistochemistry in lymphocyte-like cells, which were infiltrated mainly around vessels and in interstitial tissues.
