1Magnetic Permeability Spectra of Metamaterials Composed of Split Cut Wires Retrieved Using Circuit Theory

Frequency dispersion of magnetic permeability has been theoretically predicted in a metamaterial composed of split cut wires (SCW) and cut wires (CW) separated by dielectric substrate on the basis of circuit theory. Magnetic resonance resulting from antiparallel currents between the SCW and CW is observed at the frequency of minimum reflection loss (corresponding to absorption peak) and effective resonator size can be determined. Calculating the circuit parameters (inductance L, capacitance C) and resonance frequency from SCW dimension, the frequency dispersion of permeability of Lorentz like magnetic response can be predicted as a function of resistance R. The simulated resonance frequency and permeability spectra can be explained on the basis of the circuit theory of an RLC resonator.

Laboratory fume hood is a local exhaust system for controlling harmful substances generated in handling various organic solvents, acids and alkalies in the laboratory. The laboratory fume hood is equipped with a vertically open door that can be opened and closed on the front of the hood, and a bypass-type grill and an upper exhaust duct is provided in the upper part of the hood to form a uniform exhausting force in the opening face. In this study, numerical predictions of air flow characteristics inside a fume hood with internal baffles and a louvered bypass are obtained, and the abnormal flow characteristics in the fume hood according to the change of the inlet area of the fume hood are analyzed through computational fluid analysis. The reaction time necessary to maintain the safe average speed at the inlet of the hood is obtained,

Metal organic frameworks(MOFs), consisting of metal ions or metal ion clusters and organic ligands, has unique structural and functional properties due to its porous structure. Recently, Prussian blue(PB) received attention for their applications in sensor, energy storage, electrochromic, and drug delivery field. In PB, iron, which is a transition metal, exists in two oxidation states, and charge and electron transfer between the two oxidation states is possible and electrochromic property is exhibited. However, in order to apply the selective electrochromic property, it is necessary to make a thin film by modifying the PB surface. In this paper, Fe4[Fe(CN6)]3 porous samples synthesize with citrate and citric acid as dispersant in a water and ethanol solvent at room temperature. The structure and morphology of Fe4[Fe(CN6)]3 can be controlled by adjusting number of precursor, precursor solution, amount of additives, ratio of additives. Synthesized materials were analyzed by XRD, FT-IR, FE-SEM, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and EIS.

Surfactant is an amorphous compound that contains both hydrophilic and hydrophobic groups in a molecule. When surfactant comes into contact with water, bubbles are generated. The bubbles produced are useful for commercial use. But, Sometimes it can be disrupted during the synthesis or processing of substances. It's antifoaming agent that removes bubbles. Antifoaming agent is applicated to having a picture developed, dyeing process, making lens and making paper and so on.
In this study, Synthesis of Long chain saturated fatty acid methyl esters and Long chain unsaturated fatty acid methyl esters by distillation method and analyzed it by using FT-IR and 1H-NMR. Surface tension was method and foaming properties were tested on the synthesized antifoaming agents. As a result, Surface Tension was a range of 21.57 to 29 dyne/cm. Antifoaming agent's properties was range of 0 to 7.8 cm.

Fe2O3-CNT composite nanofibers are prepared by electrospinning as anodes for lithium-ion batteries. CNTs with high electrical conductivity were distributed homogeneously in Fe2O3-CNT composite nanofibers. Therefore, electrons could be transferred efficiently by CNTs network during repeated cycles. Moreover, the pores between CNTs facilitate penetration of electrolyte into the structure. The initial discharge capacity of Fe2O3-CNT composite nanofibers at a current density of 100 mA g-1 was 770 mA h g-1. Additionally, the Coulombic efficiency of the cell maintained above 99 % during 300 cycles. The synergistic effects of Fe2O3-CNT composite nanofibers containing CNTs and pores efficiently could improve the lithium ion storage property of the cell.

In this study, the electrochemical properties of activated carbon-coated lead anode for ultra batteries were investigated to high specific surface area. The coating solvent was distilled water and ethanol as solvent. The electrochemical characteristics were investigated by cycle stability tests. Lead anode with activated carbon for ultra-batteries improved cycle stability than that of pristine lead-acid batteries. When the activated carbon added to the coating solution was 8 g, the cycle performance was excellent compared to 12 g. It was found that the addition of activated carbon improves the cycle stability of the battery by suppressing the hydrogen generation reaction at the anode, but more than a certain amount of the activated carbon for coating the anode decreases the cycle stability.

In this paper, simulation study was performed to analyze the temperature change according to the shape and power factor of LED lamp and suggest a solution for LED cooling. The rated power from LED was 10 W. It was assumed that the power factor was 0.3, 0.5, 0.7, 0.9, respectively. A basic-type LED lamp with no shape change was compared with fin-body type LEDs in terms of heat releasing performance. When the number of fins was increased to 20, the temperature on LED was dropped to 26.72% in average for power factors. However, the temperature was observed to decrease approximately 4% when the number of fins became double. This is because the distance between the fins decreases as the number of fins increases in the identical space. The adverse effect could be avoided by optimization of the number of fins, and enhanced heat transfer is beneficial for increasing LED lifespan.

Power electronics devices are now widely used to efficiently deliver electrical power in hybrid/electric cars, home electronics, telecommunication, and so on. Large heat accompanied with these power electronics should be transmitted to the heat sink. In the present study, cooling technologies based on heat sink with different material and thermal properties. High cooling performance can manage junction temperatures to achieve goals for system efficiency, product cost, and system reliability. Cooling technologies depend on heat spreading and moving by heat conduction associated with convection. Usually, natural or forced air cooling heat sink provides efficient heat spreading.
Thermal stress of electronics PCB is affected by thermal expansion in interconnection with different material. In the present study, pin fin heat sinks of different materials were investigated in terms of 3 dimensional thermal conductivity allocation. In this analysis, the cooling performance was observed in three terms of chip junction temperature variation. heat sinks made of usual metallic materials such as Copper and Aluminum were compared with heat sinks of orthographic thermal conductivity composite materials. The pin-fin heat sink of kx-ky-kz = 810-52-810 W/m-K composite material shows slightly higher thermal performance. The optimum heat sink design should be accompanied with special care on thermal conductivity allocation in three dimensional directions.

The shadow moire method is a measurement using a new periodic interference pattern caused by the interference of two gratings. Therefore, the visibility of Moire patterns is very important. In the measurement using a metal specimen, a dark image is obtained because of the light entering the camera due to the regular reflection. It is difficult to confirm moire patterns in these images. Therefore, in this paper, we induced scattered reflection by applying artificial roughness through spraying of matte white paint. In addition, we proposed a method to minimize the distortion caused by spraying. This spray method was applied to the specimen of the mirror to solve the visual degradation due to the specular reflection. The flat specimens made in this way were found to have significantly less distortion than the metal specimens. These flat specimens will enhance the reliability of the study as a basis for the development of high sensitivity shadow moire measurements. In addition, the plastic deformation and the application of the spray method were used to make specimens with arbitrary deformation that could be measured with micro deformation. If plastic thermal deformation is used, both excessive deformation and micro deformation can be realized. In the case of applied paint spraying, the manufacturing process is cumbersome, but it is possible to fabricate a deformation more micro than that of a specimen by using thermal deformation of plastic.

10Calculation of The Capacitance Coefficients of Two Non-contacting Metallic Spheres with The Method of Image

In this paper, the image method formulation is presented for the capacitance of two non-contacting metallic spheres. First, a point source in the presence of a grounded conducting sphere is analyzed and equations for the image source are derived. Next, the image theory of a spherical conductor is applied to solve the problem of two non-contacting metallic spheres where one sphere is held at potential V0 and the other at zero potential and vice versa. The two metallic spheres are represented by an equivalent problem with an infinite sequence of image charges inside each spherical conductor, from which the total charge on each sphere is obtained using the Gauss theorem. The capacitance coefficients are obtained from the total charge and potential on each sphere. The mutual capacitance or simply the capacitance between two spheres is obtained from the capacitance coefficients. The potential, electric field, and force on the sphere are calculated using image charges.
