The relationship between the hardness and interlamellar spacing of discontinuous precipitates (DPs) formed by continuous cooling was studied for Mg-9%Al-1%Zn alloy. After solution treatment at 683 K for 24 h, the specimens were cooled to room temperature with different cooling rates ranging from 0.2 to 2 K·min-1, in order to obtain DPs with various interlamellar spacings. It was found that cooling rate of 2 K·min-1 yielded only small amount of nodular DPs at the grain boundaries, while cooling rates below 2 K·min-1 yielded both DPs and continuous precipitates (CPs). The volume fraction of DPs increased with increasing cooling rate up to 0.5 K·min-1, over which it abruptly decreased. The hardness of DPs was increased with an increase in the cooling rate, whereas the interlamellar spacing of the DPs was decreased with respect to cooling rate. The hardness of the DPs formed by continuous cooling was correlated with the interlamellar spacing and can follow a Hall-Petch type relation as in the case of pearlite with lamellar morphology.

Cu-Co-Si based alloy has a strengthening mechanism for Co2Si intermetallic compounds deposited on the copper matrix after aging treatment and the solution treatment has a key influence on the strength and electrical conductivity of the final products. In this paper, the Cu-1.6%Co-0.38%Si alloy was fixed at the time and the solution treatment temperature was set at a temperature in the range of 800 to 950℃, and the change in mechanical properties was observed by fixing the temperature at 950℃ and changing the time. The microstructure was observed using an electron microscope and an optical microscope, and the changes in hardness, electrical conductivity, and bending workability after aging treatment were investigated. When the solution treatment time is less than 20 seconds, the solution treatment is not sufficient and the formation of precipitates contributing to the increase in hardness decreases and the hardness decreases after the aging treatment, and in more than 50 seconds, the hardness decreases due to the coarsening of the grains and the bending workability got worse.

Since the dissimilar bonded interface usually consists of intermetallic compounds (IMCs) layer and cracks, their mechanical and electrical properties can be influenced by microstructure at interface between two different metals. In this study, the friction welded Cu-Al busbar, which is widely used to connect a secondary battery and their component, is selected to analyze the influence of interfacial characteristic on their tensile strength and electric conductivity. Then, the electrical characteristics of Cu busbar and Cu-Al busbar were investigated by thermal flow analysis and temperature rise test. In addition, the relationship between the maximum saturation temperature and the electrical conductivity were discussed in terms of interfacial characteristics of the friction welded Cu-Al busbar.

In this study, Electro spinning was carried out using Cabon nanotube 0.1%-Polyacrylonitrile 3%-Dimethylformamide 17% agitation solution. It was investigated the solute and solvent correlations according to the electro spinning voltages ranging form 5 to 40 kV, based on the SEM image. Except voltage 25 kV, electro spinning was failed due to the lack of electro spinning (less than 60%). Voltage 25 kV was showed excellent properties, and was confirmed Cabon nanotube 58.1 nm and diameter of Cabon nanotube + Polyacrylonitrile 1.76 μm as shown SEM image. Also, the tensile test results were showed that SK Chemical prepreg electro spinning angle of 0 and 90 degrees were 137 MPa and 60 MPa, respectively.

Magnesium alloys have been rapidly attracting as lightweight structural material in various industry fields because of having high specific strength and low density. It is well known that the crystallographic texture plays an important role in improvement of poor room temperature ductility of magnesium alloys. In this study, high-temperature plane strain compression deformation was conducted on extruded AZ80 magnesium alloy at 723K by varying the strain rates ranging from 5.0×10-3s-1 to 5.0×10-2s-1 in order to investigate the behaviors of texture formation. It was found that texture formation behaviors in three kinds of specimens were affected by continuous and discontiuous deformation mechanism.

A vehicle's differential gear is a device designed to allow the vehicle's outer wheels to turn faster than the inner wheels when turning on a curve. The differential gear case is the main component of the differential gear system, which is composed of ring gear, pinion gear and side gear, and is fastened by pinion shaft pins. The differential gear case rotates when the vehicle is running, so balancing calibration is very important. In this study, a balancing machine that can diagnose and correct the differential gear case and mass imbalance of various rotating bodies was designed. The differential gear case was rotated at high speed to accurately diagnose the location and value of the unbalanced mass, and it was designed to be balanced and corrected by removing the unbalanced mass by drilling. After calibration, it was confirmed that the unbalanced value of all the measured samples was reduced to less than 180g.mm, and the unbalance reduction ratio was improved to 60~70%.
